I give these a 4 star because in thier second hunt the upper adjustment strap frayed and then was caught by a weed in the field and totally frayed out the entire strap. I had to take it to a local alterations shop to have the strap replaced. Other than that great gaiters.

Unfortunately, I ordered the “middle†or medium and should have ordered the “extra-large.†The “middle†size will not wrap around my size 12 boot and fasten. In fact, the gaiter needs about 3 to 5 inches more material just to fasten the Velcro. This is not a problem with the manufacturer; I am the one who ordered them. I found a size chart, and it says the “middle†size is for US shoe sizes 4-7.5. The XL size is for US shoe sizes 9-14.Although they didn’t fit, here’s what I can tell you. The gaiters are made with quality material. 1000D nylon is a seriously tough material found in premium products. The buckles are metal and the shoe straps are made of a polymer material. Additionally, the shoe straps have three rows of reinforced stitching that is quite strong. The interior has a polymer/synthetic liner that serves as significant waterproofing but allows interior water vapor to pass through. The exterior fabric has a suede-like texture that feels nice and soft.I tested the gaiters for water resistance by pouring water across the closed, exterior part of the gaiter. Fortunately, I can report that they are very good at resisting water. No water made it through the fabric. And, although it’s a bit subjective, I like the camouflage pattern. The bottom line is that I wished I had these in my size. I can still use these gaiters so long as I wear shoes and not boots. Most adults will likely want to order the extra-large size.

Now that I have tried them, why did I wait so long to get them? I do a lot of hiking through rough terrain and hunt in sometimes tall, wet, and grassy environments. Tried these out after recent rains and they kept my lower pant legs dry. The fit is easily adjustable and they are made with high-quality materials. Not a thin and cheap-feeling product. The instep strap is rubbery and flexible with heavy-duty buckles to allow for a snug fit against my shoes or boots so my feet stay dry. They are tall/long enough to come up to just below my knees. The material allowed for my internal heat and moisture to escape so my legs and pants did not feel hot or sweaty. The seams are sewn together very well with double stitching. They are made with material that is quiet while I walk. Again, my first pair, and now I know why this type of product exists. I'm impressed.

So I don't hunt but I do hike and love camouflage prints and I use gaiters all winter long. I saw these and read the description and they sounded really interesting so I gave them a shot. Before I even left the house, I knew they were going to be a winner for me. These gaiters are rugged yet soft and comfortable. They are stitched so well that I can't imagine any seam would give for years to come. The velcro is strong as could be and stays put unless I really tug hard which is how it should be. The under boot strap is made of some really strong rubberlike material and I just can't see that it would ever wear out like typical rubber might. Most gaiters do come with the hook that you can latch on to your boot laces like these have and they stayed put as expected after my 6.5 mile hike. The best part of these gaiters that sets them ahead of the rest was asurprise added benefit that these babies are warm too! I have been used to nylon gators that protect from the elements like these do but don't really offer any additional warmth as much as these!Another comparison that stands out is that these are a lot less expensive than any I have bought in the past so a win there too.The only thing I wish was different is the loop at the top of the calve the has to be thread through the clasp that holds it tight. I think a snap clasp closure would be ideal as I have them on my other gaiters.Bottom line, I recommend these gaiters :)

After seeing my grandson return from a day of hunting with the legs of his jeans a mess from the briars and brambles he trudged through I went in search of gaiters to prevent the repeat occurrence of that. I settled on these for their build quality, fit, and price point. My grandson has remarked a how much easier and more comfortable it is to traverse rough country with these on. They have held up well so far and should provide years of use.

The concept seems good. The material is quiet and seems waterproof. Maybe a little overkill with the buckle around the bottom of the shoe. I was unable to really try it out because I ordered the "middle" size and it doesn't go around my calf. I'm going to try and return it for the larger size.
