I play Irish whistles and bought a very expensive wooden one. After playing the whistle it needs to have the moisture removed before being put away. I looked around online and found this piccolo pad-saver, which looked to be the right size.I play in public on a regular basis and therefore take this with me and use it every time. It is perfect for what I want, and keeps the whistle dry and clean. The diameter and length of the cleaner is just right for the whistle, which breaks down to two sections. If the whistle did not break down into two the pad-saver would not be long enough. My whistle is in the key of C, and even with a shorter whistle (in the key of D) this would be too long for the piccolo pad-saver to clean all the way, unless the whistle breaks down to two sections.

This pad saver is very nice, it is super absorbent and wont leave strands inside your piccolo...I personally like to pull a swab through and then put this in but that's just me, you could just put it in and it would absorb the liquid. Highly Recommended for piccolo players I will now purchase one for my flute :)

I purchased this for my Ravel piccolo. It fits well, but don't leave it in the instrument or it will ruin the pads. It is great for cleaning the piccolo after use.

All piccolo players know the horror that unexpected water in a key can cause. Yikes. As a professional flute/piccolo player for over 25 years, often in situations where I had fast switches of instruments back and forth, this product is one I wish I had found years ago.I have a Powell piccolo, and was concerned after reading a few reviews that the swab might not fit, but I had no problems. This item helped me keep my piccolo dry through Broadway tours of "Wicked" and "Phantom." And it's so easy to use! Since I was swabbing more frequently, I didn't need to take apart the instrument most of the time, so I didn't need to fiddle with the headjoint.I use the Piccolo Pad-Saver for quick drying during rests, but I use my regular swab at intermissions and after the show for a full dry job.Love the product and highly recommend it..

perfect size for my Guo piccolo. When I bought a second one for my wooden hamming, it was too snug. This was easily remedied by trimming the bristle lengths. Now it's perfect.

This is a great little pad saver. I've had it for a little while and it's still holding up. Just make sure to not leave it inside your piccolo, but in the case instead, as that can be bad for it. But yeah great spit swab. :)

Lovely brush with nothing that will damage the bore of a woodwind. I use mine for initial swabbing of a Quena.

Fits nicely inside the piccolo (Yamaha) & allows me to remove moisture quickly. It's difficult to get the normal cleaning rod all the way through with a gauze on, so this is fab to dry inside properly. Also used it during a concert to quickly dry inside & stop moisture clogging keys & dripping out.

O.K. so I don't have a piccolo but I do have three very fine D wooden whistles and this is ideal for drying out the inside after a session. Have'nt tried washing it yet but I see no reason not to.

I have various similar pad savers for other instruments. Unfortunately the protective end caps fall off so need gluing, but otherwise its fine.
