I purchased this as a replacement for a similar item that only lasted one growing season, the pump stopped working and was not replaceable. So far, so good with this grower. It seems sturdier and more compact than my other grower. I don’t like the loud beep when pressing the on off button but I would recommend this item to others.

The Smart Garden IGS-61 is easy to setup and the pump is quite. I set it up on 2/28 and seeds are starting to germinate. The unit is small enough to set on my desk. It also comes with a two year warranty. I contacted Kelly in the service department and received a quick response. I'm happy with the unit.

Hydroponics Growing System Kit 12 Pods, Hydroponic Herb Garden Kit Indoor with 24W LED Grow LightI am not a newcomer to the tabletop hydroponics world. I grow all kinds of things indoors all year round using these little tabletop units. Most of my machines are from Aerogarden, who just closed their doors. So I'm looking for alternatives. I thought I'd try this one. I always have more things to grow than I have hydroponics systems. In this one I put four green onions that were wilting in my refrigerator so that I can have endless green onions once they grow. I used six of the other holes to plant three different kinds of pepper plants, two of each type. If they germinate I'll pull them out and grow them elsewhere. I will cover the two empty holes. This will give the plants' roots a little extra room.Things I like about this system:1. The base is solid, without a rubber plug in the bottom to leak. I will only use systems that have a solid bowl base to reduce the possibility of leaks. This has that.2. It contains 12 pod holes in a small base. This means that I need to pay more attention to rapid root growth, but I like the flexibility. Due to the size of this system, it will *still* only grow up to two little cherry tomato plants, regardless of the number of holes.3. A maximum water level line is built into the watering port so that it's easy to tell when water is low without struggling to see the level on the front.Things I do not like about this system:1. It came with no stickers to place on the filled baskets. These are necessary to inhibit algae growth.2. The baskets are square, not round like every other system I have. This means I now need to stock two different types of baskets and peat growing sponges. If I'd noticed that before I ordered it, I would have passed on this one. The baskets are larger, but I don't really want to stock two different options.3. The entire thing is in one piece, so in order to clean the tank the whole light system has to be removed. This is a pain.4. The pump came disassembled from the tank, and I had the entire thing together before I found the diffuser lid that snapped on top of the pump. This necessitated removing the top of the tank with its filled baskets and balancing it somewhere so I could fix the pump before filling it with water.5. The instructions are unclear and difficult to follow. Instructions for assembling the pump apparatus and which way to turn it inside the tank should have come before anything else, and they were nonexistent.6. There is no light to determine when the water is low. A clear window shows the actual levels but it's difficult to read, even with the white base.This is one of the best non-Aerogarden starter tabletop hydroponics systems I've tested, and I've tried several. One thing that must be added to this system are some type of sticker with a hole in the center to ward off algae, or nothing will grow but algae.

This is a great little hydro garden. Excellent $ point of you don't want to splurge for a more expensive option. Great customer service via email while contacting for free warranty extension (included via email with purchase). The motor is VERY quiet and the kit is VERY easy to assemble and get started. Does not include seed. One complaint I do have is that this does not come with light blocking stickers. I had to make little covers with foil to block light from the sponge to stop algae growth. Overall, an excellent deal and a quality product.

We have found that growing lettuce ln water (hydroponics) is the way togo. No soil, in side during the winter and having fresh salad on accession nice and tender leaves. We have two going now. Very simple process. My wife just said no bugs ,dirt nice clean lettuce and may keep it going year around. Turns on, off automatically

Ok, this is operating fine. I’m trying to find information on how to transplant once the plants get bigger and there is no information, anywhere. The QR code with it, doesn’t work. My seeds are sprouting and it works fine so far. There’s just no customer service which concerns me if it does fail
