I use this for my cast iron skillet. It's fine as long as you slip it on immediately before grabbing the handle and then remove it. If you leave it one, it won't melt but it will get very hot. It's a lightweight alternative to using oven mits.

Loved the fit, quality, easy to use, and very needed for cast iron pan. Helps with heat, and grip since pan is heavy. Looks great too!

These help, but only when I need to hold/move the pan quickly. I could still feel some heat (but not burning) coming thru to silicone. Wish the material was thicker.The fit is not snug, so the sleeve moves around a little.Still better than not having them!

I wanted to replace a Lodge-branded panhandle holder that was waaaay too loose, so I read some reviews and settled on this one. Good value, but big bummer to discover that the panhandle holder in this package was slightly looser and thinner. Additionally, it gives slightly worse insulation, not that Lodge is very good either.Now bear with me; if you cut off your old Lodge's top and slide it into the bottom, you get the thicker, non-spinning holder you really want AND the superior hexagonal grip of this holder. I was going to toss it anyway, so it seemed like a real win. I just wish that Tramontina (my other cast irons) sold their grip separately because it's ideal.The accompanying pan assist sleeves are fine.

This does just what they say...it slips right over the handle of your cast iron pans. I have pretty heat proof hands form years working in kitchens, but if you have cast iron, you know how the heat can sneak up on you and get you. These work great to help stop that from happening. I use just the handle on my smaller skillets, and the handle and the little folded over one on my huge frying pans doe to the size and weight. No more steam burns form using damp kitchen towels.

my daughter says you need to turn the heat up HIGH when making stir fry, and thank goodness for these handle holders! Even with the flame on high, I can hold on to the heavy cast iron fry pan!

Very easy to place on the cast iron pan. Takes away the hot handle and pan edge issues. Works great and wife is very happy with this item. Happy wife, happy life!
