I've been getting used to this for ~ a month and just starting to play it with a band. Love the tone and ease of setup/transport. It seems to have the proper setup (that mmmmwwwwwaaaahhhh) for most of the fingerboard. I've just noticed on the G (Ab, A, Bb) and D (Eb), there is a tinny sound. I've taken to local shop to check the setup and I've they were unable to resolve. The truss rod was frozen. After lubricating, we still unable to resolve the buzz on the D and G near the nut. The back bow on the neck was not able to be flattened via truss rod adjustment. Will be trying heavier gauge strings as last resort (but this has 130s on it). Still 98% pleased...

The main thing to remember about instruments like this is that it's not a direct replacement/comparison to a double bass. This is basically a bass guitar in an upright position. I love it, but it's a world of difference from the double bass I played in high school jazz band and orchestra. Also, it could be my inability, but slapping this bass is extremely difficult. Luckily you won't *need* to slap an electric upright, and other techniques can deliver the same/similar attack and tone as it is picked up by the piezo.

I absolutely LOVE THIS BASS!!! I thought I would have to use an outboard preamp on this thing, but the tone is so thick and organic if you closed your eyes and listened, you almost couldn't tell the difference between this and the tone of an actual double bass!!! Add to the mix the fact that I'm left handed.....but switching the strings around was easier than falling down!! Great bass!!!!!😎
