This is an interesting filter that creates some interesting, high contrast images. I assumed I'd need to convert all images to black and white, but leaving some red is more interesting in my opinion. I show a couple of images in B&W/color split screen to see for yourself. To be honest, I'm not really sure what the actual point of this filter is supposed to be. I kind of like it, but I have questions that need some research.Like: How is this different than a red filter? Why does it eat so much light? It's like neutral density filter dark! I'll need to do some more research to see if I'm using and/or understanding this filter correctly. I will say I enjoyed the few images I got when just testing out the filter briefly. It made me think and shoot differently... mostly because I couldn't see anything through the viewfinder unless I had the sun in the frame. I was relying on my auto focus most of the time.I shot my test images using a Nikon D800 with a 105 Micro Nikkor lens. Perhaps a wider angle lens would be more suited for this filter, as mentioned in the product description, but I kind of like the results I got with a little tele. With a 52mm filter, I have two lenses that will fit, including the aforementioned 105mm, and also a 50mm lens, so I'll have to play around a little more to see what I like best.I'm looking forward to reading more reviews about this filter and seeing how other folks are using it and how I might make better use of it from their example.

This filter fits on my Kodak Pixpro AZ528 digital camera, and does a decent job of allowing it to capture IR images. The camera doesn't shoot in B&W, so the images will be captured in shades of red and black, but can be quickly converted to B&W in camera. I've been curious about doing IR photography, but was hesitant to have one of my old DSLR cameras converted to shoot IR. This gives me a convenient way to experiment with IR photos without the expense or hassle of converting a camera. Note - I tested the Pixpro to confirm that it does not have a built in IR blocking filter, so this optical filter works great. However, my understanding is that some cameras have a built in filter that blocks IR wavelengths, so adding this filter will result in a very narrow range of wavelengths to work with and I suspect that the results suffer as a result. I would only recommend this filter for cameras that do NOT have any built in IR blocking filters.
