Drill Template for LS Truck/SUV Iron Blocks Do you have an LS Truck block and need the second mounting hole for low mount alternators or other accessories? We've made it simple with this easy to use template. Just attach the template with your factory hardware, mark the hole, then drill the hole with an "R" drill bit (.339", or 11/32"), then use an M10-1.5 Tap. (This is in a non critical part of the engine block.)
- Allows you to mark the center point for precise drilling & tapping location.
- Made in Wichita, Kansas from aerospace grade, USA produced billet aluminum

We have used same template, bit and tap on 4 iron 6.0’s all fit perfect, it won’t fit as good if you have milled heads but we got it to work on one with 20thou milled

This lays out the hole to be drilled right on the money. I used this on my truck block to drill it for a low mount alternator and everything bolts up perfectly.

Highly recommend if you need to drill a second hole for the alternator bolt on a GM truck engine that doesn't have one and you are swapping one into a car that needs that threaded hole to mount the alternator bracket (i.e. f body cars).. made things alot easier

Excellent product. Fitment is perfect. Great tool to template hole that is needed to be drilled and taped for LSx iron block lower alternator configuration. The only thing that I would suggest to improve upon it is to weld a spacer to the hole that needs to be drilled as a guide to perfectly center the drill bit.

I bolted this up to my 5.3 block. Chucked up the right size drill bit. Only to find the hole on template smaller than drill. It made me double check the drill size b4 I destroyed the block. It was all good. Lined up the drill and drilled out template then into block. Template worked great.

I wish I knew these existed before I tried tapping the block without one. I ended up butchering my iron block two years ago. This will definitely help.
