It appears to be perfect for my application. It is metal, well-made, nicely machined, and finished. With proper care should last a long time. The first time I shopped for a one ton digital scale such as this one, it seemed like I would have to spend several hundred dollars for a decent one. So I as pleased to find this one for considerably less. I didn't realize it had the remote control until after I had ordered it. So that is a nice bonus. I did make a mistake thinking the large red LED readout would be easy to ready in sunlight. I do not know if LCD readout would be easier. Anyway, I can shield the readout if necessary or operate so readout is shaded. I like it that it uses standard size batteries instead of built-in ni-cads or some special type.

This thing is awesome. Takes all the guess work out of when the line or chain will snap while yanking of stuff. I used it while straightening out a mast on trailer. I could see how much deflection and yielding was occurring as I heated it up. No question if the mast was moving as the scale indicated a decreasing tension. Also, have plans to test the thrust produced by my boat. Seriously, hours of fun for people fascinated with mechanics.[...][...]

This scale works as it should. We weight boats and outboard motors with ours. We use it on a fairly regular basis and it has never let us down. Good price and quality product.

Works great. I use it to make sure that I don't overload a pully/zip line system that I use to move materials. Easy to read, even in sunlight. No issues.

We own a butcher shop and us this scale to weight whole cows,pigs,sheep etc.The scale it self is great only last about a year but we are really hard on equipment in our line of work. It took forever to get shipped it sat for a week before the shipped it. Disappointed!!

Item would not stay on i have had for a month now it will not weight an already hanging item you have to start from the floor and lift up sometimes give innacurate reading.
