So, on receiving this, to illuminate an amber resin Buddha, I was a bit concerned. The post office was not gentle with the bubble wrap envelope it came in, and the box inside, containing this, was quite smashed up. Fortunately, my LED light itself was undamaged. Even so, it had a slightly worrisome "made cheaply" feel to it, but then I plugged it in and fired it up, and I'm very impressed with the result.Difficult to snap a decent photo, but the mirrored surface gives added depth to the figure, and the light is bright enough to illuminate the whole lower half, giving it a graduated glow that is very appealing. Plenty bright enough, in a lighted room, and in the dark, even more awesome.Instructions were oddly contradictory, stating that the "model" button (probably meant "mode" button) did nothing, then describing what it did, which it actually does, which is switch through a wide array of lighting options, from slow changing to fast changing multi-colors, to various paired mixes and solid one color displays.For me, white (makes it glow amber) and red (gives it a fiery hue) worked best, managing to nicely illuminate a sculpture probably not even designed to park on an LED display, but with enough translucence in the amber resin material to allow light to sufficiently penetrate to make it into an even more attractive piece, thanks to the brightness of these lights.Options for battery and USB power are given, and they included a wall plug for the included USB cord, which is very helpful, although I just plugged it into a nearby USB hub. Bottom line is that this really increased and enhanced the overall look of my desk Buddha, and I'm very pleased.Colors are exceptionally vivid and bright, and the LED's are generously sized -- far more impressive than a lighted base I bought some time back, with only three tiny LED's. Although it seems a bit "plasticky" in feel, when first handling it, once in use, doing it's job, the performance outshines any doubts.It's not an unattractive design, by any means, and won't detract on display, but I guess it just appears quite utilitarian, with the plain gray plastic. Not that, as a light base, it's meant to dominate the subject being lit, so maybe I have no point to make there, haha, but, in summary, what counts is that it provides a strongly lighted base.It's not a piece of art, on its own, but it will make your art piece look fantastic. :)Hope this has helped. I highly recommend.Oh, and I got the five LED rectangular version, just to be clear.

I don’t like to Have to pick up the crystal to turn the light on. Got it to highlight my crystal.

These are nice little bases that add a great touch to any glass or crystal object put on it. They are plastic and lightweight but sturdy enough. Avoid the touch sensitive version, if you get a static discharge when touching it, it will not work anymore. It's happened to us with two different ones. Get the version with a switch.

The different colors of light from the base makes the glass structure astonishing. Controlling the change of colors is easy to control.

Perfect little light and price! bought it to highlight the seashell I bought on Amazon - it has multiple colors are you can choose one (like I did ) to highlight your object. love it!
