I should of known when it fit like the OEM part there would be issues. Within 20hrs of run time the cap and the coil wire were shot. Of course I can't return them. I learned a lesson, stay with Quicksilver! There's a reason they've been around over 70 years!

Inside the cap mounting lip on these Mercruiser style distributor caps are two little plastic nubs that fit into positioning holes on the distributor base plate. The nubs on these blue caps are too large in diameter and don't fit quite right. It was more work to get this cap to seat correctly without it rocking like a chair with a short leg. It does work now that I have it screwed down tight. The spark plug wires are fine. The lengths are a bit different (mostly longer) than the Mercury ones I replaced. The quality seems OK. If pandemic parts supply problems ease up I would probably order the mercury original parts.

Good quality. Cap and rotor have brass contacts. The rotor goes on very tightly. Make sure the shaft is cleaned of rust and apply some dielectric grease. Probably will need a slide hammer to get the rotor off next time. Wires are good quality. Make sure the clip inside is straight before placing it on the spark plugs.
