Button function:
1.)Push 'IN-OUT' button to select to show INSIDE or OUTSIDE temperature (IN or OUT will be indicated on LCD screen).
2.)Push 'MAX-MIN' button to show recorded MAXIMUM or MINIMUM temperature and humidity value (MAX or MIN will be indicated on LCD screen).
3.) Push '℃/℉' button to change temperature display unit
4.) Push 'RESET' button to make all set and recorded values to the original ones.
INSIDE and OUTSIDE house temperature measuring:
1.) Push the sensor wire plug into the socket under battery cover and place the sensor out of the house.
2.) Push 'IN-OUT' button to select to show INSIDE or OUTSIDE temperature, (IN or OUT will be indicated on the left side of TEMP. value).
3.) This meter can only measure INSIDE house humidity (IN is always shows above the humidity unit symbol %).
3.) If the sensor wire for OUTSIDE temperature is not installed to this meter, the meter can only show INSIDE temperature

This thermometer works well. However, it comes with a probe that only reads outside temps, so this unit sent doesn’t read the humidity as it was described. The device itself has a built in sensor to read indoor temps and humidity. Sometimes the temps are off by 2-3° (degrees Fahrenheit). It has four buttons: the buttons are in/out (In is temperature readings from the sensor on device and the out is temperature reading from the probe), reset, max/min and fahrenheit/celsius. Overall, it works decently.

UPDATE: I sent these back. They are not accurate AT ALL. Same temp near a heat lamp and in the freezer. Very slow to adjust , and there was 10* difference between the 2 thermometers I received.It is the simplest things that makes a product frustrating. This is a good thermometer, easy to use and read with an extra long probe cord. It is designed with a leg that folds DOWN from top so when you stand it on a flat top the leg will FOLD UP and the thermometer will fall down. If you're okay with hanging it up in the slot provided, or laying it flat this seems to be a great item. I needed it to sit up so I could read it from a distance. Maybe I could learn to read it upside down?!
