I thought my vacuum robot was probably going to be me foolishly getting a gadget that wasn’t worth it. But it’s one of the best tools I’ve ever bought!Turns out my small home with “less is more” furniture decor and mostly hardwood is perfect for this vacuum. I didn’t need an expensive option that also mops or empties its own bin or all the other features of the over $1000 models. I also have a golden retriever and cat, and that means lots of dust bunnies. The first time vacuuming filled the vacuum’s container very frequently. I expected this since it goes under sofa and beds where I had ignored. I had to stop and empty often. But after the initial vacuuming, it has kept up with new dust bunnies. I still stop it now and then to empty the compartment. It goes slower over a medium pile area rug but still vacuums it ok, and some low pile rugs are a breeze for it. My young dog still barks at it a lot, so vacuum noise isn’t a big deal to me, his bark is louder. But it’s not overly loud and I actually like to hear where “he” is at anyway. He is now Mr. Sweepy, and a beloved household member. We put him to work every few days…as someone else said in a review his work spills over to inspire me to dust and oil wood shelves and keep the rest of the house neater too.The big question is will my pets’ fur ultimately be too hard on this low price vacuum or will it last over time? It’s doing a great job so far! My house has never looked so clean, and I will never be without a robot vacuum again.

I don't think I can begin without first saying... Where has this little guy been my entire adult life? Seriously my fellow citizens, if you have pets and feel like managing hair is an uphill battle, you need this product. Living in our home is 2 adults, a German Shepherd and a cat. Our GS sheds like she gets paid to do it. My usual routine was to vacuum on Wednesday's and Saturday's and most of the time, I would have to pull our the Shark on other days due to all of the hair that my girl dropped on the daily. With the bag-less Shark meant for pets, I would empty the canister 3 times each time I vacuumed, and that is no exaggeration.... I no longer have to pull out the Shark on day's other than my usual Wed and Saturday! IT IS THE BEST!After receiving this guy (haven't named him yet), within the week, I knew I was falling in love. I don't have him set to run every day at the same time, so I run manually when I choose.Let's get to the great things this little guy does for me and a couple of his hiccups:1. I run him every day (except on Wed/Sat when I Shark vacuum) usually in the evenings when we're home from work. He runs about 2 hours and I stop him twice during that time to clean out the bin.2. He's taken on, what looks to be 5 different paths in our home. I've never had one before, so I don't know what it would be like to have one that learns the home, but this one works for our needs. He takes a different path each day and then you get a good rotation for the entire week.3. I only use him on hard-wood and ceramic tile. I don't use him on carpet because I don't think he has the suction to handle that type of job. I let my Shark handle that for me. Again, I have a large GS and a cat.4. He does go over my normal thickness rugs, but he will not attempt the thick piled run in my living area, nor would I expect him as when he does find his way on the rug - he really has to work to get back down.5. He will get stuck from time to time under a certain cabinet in my kitchen, guess that's a low spot. I try to watch out for that area. He will also get stuck under my dining room table that seats 6 and is very tight. Usually, he works his way through the areas perfectly, but he has gotten stuck twice under there and turned itself off.6. Had recently dropped a coffee cup in the kitchen, put him on spot and he cleaned up the small shards nicely.7. I love to set him to clean around the baseboards - that is a nice option for people with pets because the hair tends to hug the baseboards in high traffic areas like my hallway. Such a quick pick-up when company is coming and you're in a time crunch.8. He usually always finds his way back to his base. When he fails to find home, it's because I had to purposely move him SEVERAL times for one reason or the other. If I move him once or twice, he still finds home.9. My dog has zero problem with him, was concerned as she hates the Shark and tries to attack it. This one, doesn't bother her one bit. Our cat is completely infatuated and follows him all over the house.10. He's not quiet, so you may not be able to nap while it's running. We can still watch TV and have a conversation while he's out doing his cleaning.I hope this review helps others that are on fence. Like I said, I've never owned a robot vac before, so I don't have anything to compare. If you're trying not to spend a fortune and want results, you'll get it with this one. Again, I use for hardwood and ceramic tile floors only. I don't think you would get great results for carpeted floors cleaning up after pets, just my opinion that it's not strong enough to handle that type of job. I love that I'm able to manage the pet hair in my home with this little guy, it totally works for us. This one is relatively inexpensive compared to others on the market. In my opinion, I can't see those other high-dollar brands being that much better to warrant the money.

10/2/21 UPDATE: Original one died after ten months with two months left on warranty. Vacuum kept coming out of port and just kept turning in a circle. Cleaned it and reset it. Still didn't work. Even have it plugged into a surge protector and unplug when storms in area. Contacted iLife Customer Service through Amazon and they sent us a refurbished replacement. No hassles either.12/10/20: Love this little robot so much that I purchased another one!12/2/20: We figured out what happened on 11/6/20. Whatever you do, don't unplug it while it's in the charging base. It resets and loses its charge, which is what happened. Hence, it didn't last as long when vacuuming. All is well since we figured that out. This is our new best friend.11/6/20 UPDATE: After nearly a week of regular scheduled use, today it vacuumed for nearly an hour then surprisingly returned to the battery dock. Hopefully, this isn't something going bad now. We'll see and will update again, as necessary! Mind you all week it vacuumed two hours straight each day without retuning to the charging dock. What happened today?Initial REVIEW: I've wanted a robot vacuum for a few years now but could never bring myself to spend a few hundred dollars for a vacuum with mixed reviews. This one, however caught my eye because 1) it was made especially for picking up animal hair, 2) it was an Amazon daily deal 3) and it was a decent price.We've had it four days so far and have used it every day, both on manual cleaning mode and on scheduled mode. This was a worthwhile purchase that I don't have a regret making. It really works great on bare floors and really does pick up animal hair and cat litter. It even works on thin throw rugs. Not so well on thicker throw and bathroom rugs, but I knew that going in. It will never replace a big manual vacuum but it does cut down on our vacuuming every day which we had to do. The suction is powerful. Watch out for hanging drapes and toys. One good pro is if it can't vacuum over something it will automatically shut itself off.One CON is is our house with two large dogs and two cats even with regular vacuuming we did this thing needs regular emptying of the filter cup every twenty minutes to keep it working strongly to pick up everything.Easy to use and empty out. Our two dogs and cats don't pay it any mind. Though on the first day one cat and one dog were leery of it. Noise is minimal, lower in volume than a cordless and large upright vacuum. Highly recommend!Another con with ours anyway is that it does NOT automatically go back to the charging station when it runs low. Is that a defect?
