Just what I was looking for. Solid and a great assortment of colors. Using for individual class behavior incentives.

These index cards are very high quality and very decorative. They are fairly thin - about as thick as the white index cards I've gotten in bulk - and they are very consistently cut to square with no variations. The color gradient, from lightest to darkest purple, is very attractive. I don't believe the item description mentioned it, but in case anyone else wants to know, they are unlined. But I will have to figure out how I'm going to use the two or three darkest colors, because my writing on them with normal blue and black pens is difficult to read. There's not enough contrast between the card color and the ink color, so I will have to use them for something other than recipes, like in scrapbooking projects, or find something else to write on them with that has more contrast.

Oh I love these index cards! Sometimes I like to use index cards for notes that need to last a while. These index cards are thick and sturdy. They have a smooth writing surface, and they are unlined on both sides. There are 5 shades, with only the darkest two being really similar. It's is a little hard to read writing on the darkest cards, but not impossible. They do come in a thin cardboard box but I replaced mine immediately because it is kinda flimsy.

I was actually quite surprised when I first opened this box -- in a good way. I had never seen index cards in a gradient of colors. I ordered the pink cards, and they are beautiful. And, you get so many of them! These cards are not lined. When I think of an index card, I think of a pretty thick card. These cards are slightly more bendable than index cards, but they still feel sturdy. In other words, while not as rigid as index cards, they are up to the challenge of how you'd use an index card. I could also see these cards being great for scrapbooking and crafts, especially because of the color gradient. I plan on using some of them to make greeting cards. They'd also be nice for taking notes on and then pinning them up somewhere. Again, the colors lend themselves to uses beyond the traditional white index card. I'm pleased with this set. The cards also come in a good, sturdy box, so they're easy to store.
