FIRST Robotics group builds in my Shop. The CNC Router has to spin fast and uses a small diameter cutter. This creates high pitch noises. I needed a way to alert the students to when hearing protection must be used. This Beacon does an really nice job.

I'm sometimes guilty of sleeping through my two alarm clocks. I put this on a Christmas lights timer. This does the job. I have to get out of bed to end the racket and, voila, I'm up. In an apartment, full volume might be enough to wake several neighbors, so the volume control makes sense. Here in my house, it's full volume. Haven't overslept yet with this. Also in my mind is the possibility that prolonged exposure to that level of decimals might be unhealthy - one more incentive to get up and get moving.

If you want a beacon that has a single light mode and plug in capability, this'll do. as for the noise, drives the dogs nuts and it's a thin, broken speaker type sound. you have to dismantle if you want to remove the screws at the bottom. so if you're looking for an inexpensive beacon that's good for ?, then this is for you, the price is right too.
