***Direct from the Manufacturer - USA*** Quick Arsenic in Wood Test Kit #481396-W CONTAINS THE MATERIALS NEEDED TO RUN 5 TESTS FOR MEASURING ARSENIC IN WOOD: 3 REAGENTS, 1 EASY READ COLOR CHART, 5 ARSENIC TEST STRIPS, 1 REACTION BOTTLE, 2 YELLOW CAPS, AND 1 WHITE CAP. The Quick Arsenic in Wood Test Kit provides you with accurate results at affordable prices. All the components are clearly marked, making testing for Inorganic Arsenic (III&V) easy to perform by reducing error. No technical training is required and all reagents are safe to use. Results can be obtained in 12-14 minutes. Performance and accuracy of these kits have been verified by the USEPA through the ETV program. We invite you to see why the Quick line of Arsenic test kits from ITS are recognized throughout the world as the premium Arsenic field test kits. NOTE: Because the arsenic presence in aged wood can not be detected at the surface of the wood the test procedure recommends that a 1/4″ drill bit is used to collect a 1/2″ drilled sample from the wood. This drilled sample is added to the reaction bottle for analysis. Detects 250, >400, >500 ppb (µg/L)

We moved into a new house and wanted to test the existing garden boxes. Inside the kit includes the instructions for water testing, you’ll need to scan a QR code for soil and wood testing. Instructions are straightforward, you need to follow all steps timely. I did have to drill the existing wood to get a sample. Three out of the 4 boxes were negative, one showing moderate amounts. I’m happy with the kit.

Used this to test wood. Apparently I did it wrong the first time because the instructions could be better laid out when it comes to using the test strip. Went on YouTube and realized what I did wrong and the subsequent test went well. They're are 5 tests so it's okay since I don't do this kind of stuff everyday. Chalk one test up to a learning curve. It works and I would recommend it.

This test kit enabled us to establish that wood panels had arsenic in them. Followed the directions and quick results We used 2 people one to keep time and 2nd to implement the the process

Instructions on how to insert the test strip into the Reaction Vessel are TERRIBLE. The picture (Fig 2) shows the 'long side' of the strip relative to the Red Stripe as being UP but Fig 3 'seems' to show that the long side should be DOWN and inside the vessel relative to the Red Stripe.Turns out the LATTER is correct (long side goes into the vessel) but I wasted one test strip (20% of the kit value) discovering this. The last picture at the bottom of Instruction page 3 does NOT have Figure # on it but it does have an ARROW pointing to the bottom of the Reaction bottle but its never defined. This kind of ambiguity and confusion is just STUPID.

Seems like a good product although no way for me to know for sure. My only quibble is to check wood for arsenic was difficult. Catching the shavings on cardboard or paper is tough because even a slight breeze will blow them away and off the surface. I put the test strip in backwards my first try even though I read the directions 3 times. But mission accomplished and I have three more tests that I do not need.

excellent easy to use, be careful fumes are intense, found arsenic on old treated lumber porch, dogs where licking their paws, found the cause.

I got this to test whether the raised garden bed in the house I recently bought is safe to use for growing vegetables. Overall I am satisfied with the results but the product has some pluses and minuses.Firstly I read most of the reviews of this product and 2 of the most common complaints include the instructions were not clear how to put the strip inside and no instructions on how to dispose the final solution. The product that I got had clear instructions for both, so maybe the manufacturer has listened and added the missing information.I had to read the instructions a few times to make sure I follow the steps correctly, so overall a bit complicated process, but not too bad. One of the most difficult portion of the process is the cleanup part. The gray powder thing sticks to the plastic bottle, and doesn't come off easily even with vigorous rinsing. For testing wood, it specifies how much sample to get, but first time my strip came out dark brown, which was beyond the strip limits and basically I had to test again, next time getting a smaller sample. So not sure if the instructions are incorrect or my wood sample was too toxic.Since I had more tests left, I decided to test the soil too. Now the instructions don't mention anything at all about how much soil sample to take, even though it says it is for testing soil too. I ran a couple of tests with different soil sample amounts, but some instructions on this will be helpful.
