Used this to filter a heavily dry hopped homebrew. I used stainless barbs instead of the ones supplied. Worked great, no leaks. I did cold crash the beer first to drop a lot of the hops out of suspension.

Worked well for what I needed it for. I ended up buying two stainless Tr-clamp fittings to screw into it instead of using the plastic barb fittings it comes with. It easily attaches to my racking port now.Once all my lines and filter were purged with co2, I pressurized it to about 10psi and couldn't see any leaks. However, I had to tighten it a bit more than I originally had it to get it to stop leaking when it was first pressurized. I dumped a majority of the hops prior to racking, but this did a great job at keeping the remaining hop particles out of my keg.It is easy to clean and take apart. I hook it up every time I have a heavily hopped IPA or something with fruit in it, and it does a great job keeping a lot of the particulate out.

I used this a few times with my brewing. I had significant leaks in a number of places. I tried a few times to patch it up but in the end I gave up and threw it out. If beer needs to be processed correctly to avoid oxidization or infection, a very leaky unit like mine was, would not help.

This is a cheap piece of garbage. The filter is poor quality. Even with teflon tape (I'm a plumber) the hose fitting leaked so badly they suck up air. I tried tightening the fitting and it crumbled in my hands. Sucked up so much oxygen it ruined my brew. I have now done what I should have done from the start. I bought a better quality inline 10 inch filter with a 1 micron washable filter. For the amount of work that goes into a brew, spend a little extra and avoid the disappointment, not to mention the mess, this filter is.

Compare what's in the photo I attached with other images of 180 micron mesh. It's definitely not a 180 micron filter and it looks way more "coarse" than in the marketing photo. The housing also has this weird stain on it that's embedded in the plastic. It's the epitome of cheap Chinese junk. This filter is going straight in the trash! And to think I waited over a week for it to arrive.

The filter came with an assortment of threaded hose barbs and two silicone washers, however there is no seat in the housing to hold the seals. Even with massive amounts of Teflon this keeps leaking.

The unit was a little smaller than I had anticipated but it functioned as advertised. It is made of heavy duty plastic and enough connectors were included that it could be connected to virtually any system. Once connected it has no moving parts so it’s a no brainer to operate .
