STEP 1
- Take off the bolts to remove the carrier from the axle assembly.
- NOTE: There are shims in here so make sure that you don't mess those up.
STEP 2
- Remove the old inner seals on both sides. Then clean any dirt out the tubes.
STEP 3
- Put the new seal on the puck. Then place the seal and the tool in the differential.
- Tighten the nut until the new seal is in the right place.
STEP 4
- Remove the tool. Then repeat the Step 3 to install the new seal on the other side.

Used in a 2002 jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, front axle. It got the job done. But I think it would've been better it the tip of the big side was angled at a 45° in. At least 1/8 inch in. Because the only problem I had was it fit the hole perfectly. And it set above case with the seal in place. So I kept getting caught on the case. So I had to use the small side, to set the seal in the hole a bit. Till it was below the lip in the case. And turn it around and use the big side. I wish I took pictures to show. But if you buy this and use it. You'll know what I'm talking about. It'll get the job done. so it works great, easy to use, and looks like I could use it for other uses too.

Had to grind down two flat spots on the very end so another wrench could grip it. I did not have another nut to put on it so had to grind it. Once there was tension on the rod it kept spinning and wasn’t pressing in the seal, used the second wrench to hold it place. Worked perfectly once that little obstacle was passed

Used on a Dana 60. OEM seals take quite a bit of force to install. I would not recommend installing without a tool like this.

I work at a Chrysler dealership and have used this many times, It works great on the front axle seals of jeeps. Worth the buy, Saves you time of digging through the special tool room and hoping someone put it back.
