I haven’t pulled my cello out in a while when I got these. I finally pulled it out and scraped off the cut-up pieces of regular stickers I had been using as finger markers. These tapes are much preferable- one, they are designed to go across the entire board, and second, they don’t leave nasty residue on your fingerboard when you pull them off. They are tricky to get on (which is why I know they are easy to get off and don’t leave residue). To successfully get these attached I had to slide them up the fingerboard under the strings. I don’t play very often and really appreciate the target of where notes are. If you are starting out, I would highly recommend these, and also that you put them on while using a tuning app.

Placed on my cello students instrument. Within two weeks of that, two of the three we put on were peeled off. The last one is peeling up now. Wouldn’t buy again.

I used this tape on my cello. I like that it’s thin and also easy to apply. You will have to use multiple strips because it will peel and curl up on the edges from playing and sliding the curve of your hand and thumb on the neck. They send you plenty of strips and you will use them.

I am pretty new to the fretless/bowed stringed instruments and recently bought a cello and violin. They had tape on them that I assumed was just clear scotch tape strips that were peeling off around the edges and leaving residue on the finger board. I didn't know they made a product like this but can't wait to use these markers for a while. Being from a reputable company I'm sure they are designed well to serve the purpose and I also like the silver color for better visibility, even though maybe a taped neck kind of screams "beginner" but we all gotta start somewhere. I'll assume the adhesive is formulated not to interact with the finish but only time will tell. They are made with quality with crisp clean edges and uniform smooth appearance, very nice. Thank you.
