The K4200 Series Photocontrols feature stem and swivel mounting, with thermal-type controls. Thermal-type photocontrols, which are available in single or multi-voltage models, provide dusk-to-dawn lighting control and a delay action, which eliminates loads switching OFF due to car headlights, and lightning. The thermal-type controls feature a cadmium sulfide photocell and a sonic-welded polycarbonate case and lens to seal out moisture. The design utilizes a dual temperature compensating bi-metal and composite resistor for reliable long life operation over ambient temperature extremes. Volts: 120.

I have a photo cell sensor that controls all outside lights.Because of eves and house next to me I’ve had problems over the years with lights staying on.This has done the trick as I’ve been able to point device between house and trees to open space.Very happy

Before using this particular model I had used the Westek SW103CT and the TORK 2021 photo controls. Both of these models failed after 1 to 3 months of operation so I'd stay away from them. The Intermatic K4251 which I last installed a year ago is still functioning correctly, as such I've purchased a "backup" just in case and can recommend this particular unit. My installation of the unit is right under the roof eaves and so the unit is sheltered and never gets direct rain water on it. I live a few miles from the ocean and we do get early morning fog, but it's usually very light and lifts rather quickly during the day. So I'm not sure if the units that failed on me failed because of the electronics or the sealing of the units. However, a 1 to 3 months of operation before complete failure was not acceptable and I was considering just going with a mechanical timer scheme before installing the Intermatic unit which appears to be holding up very well.2024 Update: 9 years and the photocontrol unit is still working perfectly.

Installed this for on the output of my Landscape lighting timer, so the lights don't come on when there is light outside, but the timer shuts them off at midnight. So far, works good. Been running it for a month and it is easy to adjust point to the sky thru the bushes.

Lights stayed on needed a new one, need to save money. YouTube said it was not hard I did it all by my self. It works now.

I bought this to replace a two year old sensor (same model) that lost it's sensitivity and stayed on too long during the day. The replacement seems more sensitive. It really made a change in turning off the driveway light earlier in the morning. I hope that this one lasts longer than the two year old one that I replaced. It's fairly inexpensive and easy to change.

Failed in two months like some others have had happen. When I looked at it, I found that it was wet inside. The joint at the base was not well sealed. I would recommend checking the seam and using some silicone sealer on it if it looks bad.... I am going back to the Tork 2021 that worked for over 8 years in the same location.
