Best thing about this cover is it doesn't stick out a mile from the wall. No-one is going to use it as intended with the window popped out. So you get to pretend it's a code-compliant "in-use cover", but without the ugliness. If I was in charge, everyone responsible for silly code changes like this one should have to retrofit their own homes to satisfy the code before they foist it on everyone else. Maybe then they'd think twice.

Purchased to replace a huge cover that was installed bu builder to meet code. This had a smaller profile and did not stick out on our exterior wall where i had an outdoor sofa. Gained at least an inch while still having a weatherproof cover over an outdoor extension cord use on patio.

Product is being used w/ string lighting in a screen room. The adjustable cover & latch designs offer superior weatherproof features when in use. My reason for the 4 stars per sturdiness is whether the cover, when in use, can survive an accidental sideway impact. For my application I installed the electrical box/outlet in a corner to minimize this occurrence.

This is exactly what I needed since I have veey little clearance in front of the outlet. I applied a little bit of clear caulking on the top of the foam backing since I installed it on a vinyl siding. No problems so far. This is the only model I could find online that is a slim profile.
