I have used these for 8 working days. The zero reset is so far off its ridiculous. The measurement display sometimes doesn't even work when moving the jaws open slowly for the first 2 inches, then the indicated measurement jumps to 21+ inches. The measured reading many times "runs away"...it starts off looking like a normal reading, then just keeps on climbing. When it does work, the reported measurement is so far off it makes these calipers worthless. Look at the image above.....does that look like 47.662 inches to you? And I thought these were 12 inch maximum. Complete junk. And just in case someone mentions using a fresh battery, it was just bought and installed. Don't waste your money on this junk, and buy Mitutoyo. Yeah, they are much more expensive, but when you need your calipers to work, Mitutoyo always works, unlike these which may or may not work. If you can't trust them, which I can't, they are worthless. I have until Sept 8 to return these, and if the seller will contact me, I'd like to try an exchange set. I really like the fraction feature, and want these to work properly.UPDATE September 28: This afternoon I emailed the company asking about an exchange for my problem calipers. Within a few minutes I had a reply, and they are sending me a replacement set to try. So for now, the rating goes from 1 Star to 3 Stars for their excellent and quick customer support. If the new set works as advertised, they will be a 5 Star set of calipers. Stay tuned!UPDATE October 1: Since speaking with Vick at Clockwise tools on Friday September 28 (late in the evening), I received a replacement caliper in the mail late today. That was fast! And it came with a Calibration Certificate, which is a welcomed plus. I didn't have the time to test it in real life, but will check it against the shop's Calibrated Gauge Blocks tomorrow. I don't know if it was just me, but this caliper had a much better feel to it than the first set. I'll run it for a week or two and report back.UPDATE October 14: In the past two weeks, I have used these calipers 100% of the time, after I checked them on the shop's gauge blocks. These are spot on as far as calibration goes. After two weeks, they have performed flawlessly. No measurement jumps, no runaway measurements, or any of the other problems I had with the first set. I'd like to thank Vick at Clockwise for his help and generosity in providing a new, calibrated set. These are accurate, easy to use (love the fractional readout) and well worth the money. I see no reason you shouldn't buy these, and if you happen to get a bad set as I did, rest assured Vick at Clockwise Tolls will make it right. 5 Stars, and a great value set of calipers.

This caliper costs just a little more than many on Amazon, but delivers quality and performance similar to the name brand calipers that sell at several time the price. The digital display is large, crisp, and easy to read. Most all of the calipers that have a fraction function have hard to read half size digits in the right half of the display, Not this one!The slide works smoothly, and all the machining is well done. Accuracy and repeatably is just about perfect. Zero repeats over and over without having to re-zero the display. Great quality at a very good price.

This is actually not just anothe version of the same cheap caliper from china. This one is good quality product that works as expected and doesn't cost a fortune. It uses big, easy to change battery, has additional port so you can connect it to PC and simple case. Previous unnamed caliper worked for a few years yet failed and now resets it self all the time. Hope this works longer as I use it maybe once a month for my 3d printing projects

I love the quality, and big, easy to read display. It is fairly heavy which seems to indicate quality, and it works perfectly well. I bought this because of the locking pin on the top, metal jaws, the big display, and reduced price. I find the buttons for on/off/zero are in a spot that sometimes get pressed accidentally while using it, but it does do what it is supposed to. I have a super cheap composite digital caliper also, and use it for most everything because it is so light and easy to use, but when I want to transfer a measurement by dragging the metal jaws along my metal piece to score a light line into the metal directly I use these. Accuracy seems to be about the same as my cheap ones. Advice: get ones with metal jaws and a locking screw.

I bought this for the big display and the fact that it uses the common 2032 battery that I keep on hand for several other tools and appliances. The display is as big and clear as I hoped. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the battery slides in and out of the top - no screws like the previous 2 calipers I had. The calibration certificate was another surprise. I don't need machinist level accuracy for most of my lutherie work, but it is nice to know the tool is manufactured to close tolerances. The final surprise was the RS232 data port on the slide. I don't need it, but it is another indication that this is an industrial quality tool. Hopefullly it will last longer than my previous calipers.

Accurate, easy to use, and the digital read-out (with metric, English and fractional English) is a game changer over analog calipers.

Amazing replacement for my old caliper. Worlds apart from the cheap ones. Love the CR2032 battery, much better than the small hard to find LR44.

I chose these as I wanted the imperial measurement to be full size font to the 0.001" resolution. For calipers that have fractional displays (which this does) the display is often compromised by the number of display columns i.e. such that the 0.01" and below readout is a smaller font which I find very distracting or even confusing. These calipers have a very wide display so that the fractions are to the right of the 0.001' column so a reading of, say 3.562", appears in the same font size (0.0005" indications appear in a smaller font but I find that is actually a rational transition, i.e. tenths of a thou are negligible for me). The finish is way above the low end calipers, smooth and visually good which I really appreciate (I have a Mitutoyu dial caliper and they are similar in smoothness). The display is very cool, very clear and crisp. The control buttons are positioned so that you won't inadvertantly hit the during normal use. I am very happy and am pleased that I did not buy one of the $30 types again.

Handy set of calipers that suit my needs. Much better than my old fashioned pair.
