Its classic trigger release is designed to provide maximum locking force. Turn the screw on the IRWIN clamp to adjust pressure and fit work. The locking clamp stays adjusted for repetitive use.

Vise-Grip Locking C Clamp, measures 9 inches, with a jaw opening of 4-1/2 inches and a throat depth of 4-3/4 inches. The wide jaws provide greater versatility in clamping a variety of shapes, and the flexible jaws require less adjustment. Jaw opening and pressure changes are regulated by an adjusting screw and clamp features a guarded release for quick openings and repositioning. i bought two of these and one was slightly deformed. For the price these don't have much of a market. Irwin clamps are not good for welding because spatter sticks to them unlike no other. The 6" clamps do open up the most though. My preferred clamp is the name brand ones HF sells.
