Love the product. With the nut Drive there was no problem slamming it into the wall. I’ve had problems with the head, stripping out on Phillips head.s With the small washer already attached to the head David more strange thumbs upðŸ‘ðŸ»

For those who are shearing the heads off Tapcon brand anchors: Try using the Tapcon brand Condrive 500 installation kit and you will never shear the head off a Tapcon. Before I bought the kit, I was shearing the heads off blue tapcons left and right thinking they were defective. They are not defective if installed correctly with the correct tool. Tapcons are designed for static tensile holding power, not dynamic shearing like forces. One 1/4" Tapcon installed into solid, 4,000 PSI rated concrete will resist pull-out force up to 2,380 lbs per Tapcon. This is a static tensile rating, which is very different then a loosely installed, or under torqued screw in a hollow CBS wall for example. Concrete is significantly stronger when under high tensile loads, and much weaker when under lower tensile loads. If you are installing Tapcons like these above with a hex-head driver on an electric drive with or without a clutch, or with an impact driver, you will shear the heads off during installation some of the time. The Tapcon tool I mentioned above lifts off the head of the Tapcon at just the right moment due to a brilliant design, and prevents the angular momentum of the drill from shearing the heads off after the Tapcon has been set into the concrete.Different types of walls will yield different rates of success during installation with an electric drill for example if you do not use the Tapcon Installation tool.If you are willing to buy Tapcons, you should invest in the right tools, so you get the best value for your money. I have had my Tapcon installation set tool for at least 15 years, and have never had an issue since.

Manufacture’s packaging (Tapcon #24236) was in the Amazon shipping bag but the screws were not in the packaging; they were loose in the bag. Also a screw bit is to be included in the manufacturer’s product (says so on the package) but this was missing from Amazon.

I have used these to hang 4x8 sheets of plywood over concrete stucco in the past 3 Florida hurricanes and they saved my home from being on the 6 o’clock news !!!!!

I had a problem with shearing of the screws. Also the supplied bit only lasted six holes before it began to dull (though I was using a normal drill - perhaps an impact drill might have made a difference).
