Your cart is empty.For the most control over your fabric while piecing, most quilters prefer to use the Straight Stich Needle Plate. This foot works specifically with that plate to achieve a perfect 1/4" seam in Straight Stitch Mode. The small single hole in both the plate and the foot ensures the most control over your fabric possible and the least risk of threads or fabric getting caught in the feed dogs. NOTE: The machine must be set to use a straight stitch in center needle drop position in order for this foot to work appropriately. For Janome 8200QC (new to me machine) piecing a quilt top, I was getting a thread jam plus fabric pulled into the 9mm wide opening on the stitch plate, using foot "O" supplied with machine. I prefer the foot with a guide to ensure accuracy of scant 1/4" seam. The straight stitch plate would solve this--however the "O" foot does not work with the straight stitch plate (the needle moves to right of center, mode 1:8 mode 3: choose 02 for scant 1/4", see page 63 of manual).Thus the search was on for a foot with guide, which would work with straight stitch plate....and am so happy they make one! Works much better than a stack of post-it notes or other items stuck to bed of machine. The little black guide is sufficient to get an accurate and consistent scant 1/4" seam allowance.

I like using the clear view when I need to see the stitch line especially when using a transfer. It’s nice to have options with your presser feet.
