Your cart is empty. One of the best of all the filtration media for koi pond - very firm and rigid, sinking. Japanese filter mat is extremely inert and easy to service, available in sheet form and can be cut to the desired sizes to fit your filter chamber.

When my pond was built, the filter meda is the same as what I ordered. The original filter pad is now over 6 years. So I know this pad will last this long. Moreover, the pad I purchased is large which can be cut into 4 separate filters. Good value, good pad. My pond is happy!!!!! and the Koi even happier.

Loved this filter media, it is very sturdy and filters well and is very economical as the cost for this item was the same as what I had paid for the filter that I was using and am able to cut about 3 filters from this item. It is difficult to cut but not impossible

I replaced a very worn mat for the pump on our ~3000 gallon koi pond with this a few weeks ago. I need the mat to have a very high flow rate- I've tried some other replacements that were way too restrictive. This mat allows the water to flow through very easily but catches anything that I think could clog the pump. The pond is actually flowing better than it ever did in our time here.Note that it is very difficult, and messy (lots of little strands all around), to cut, and I actually went through several box cutter blades to get it down to size. But it looks like it was well worth the effort given how well the pond is flowing now.I'll update after a few seasons to see how it's holding up.

Too early to determine if long term use will work as a pre-filter medium to use in the pond skimmer collection box.The old (green) was soft and pliable, but also stitched together with hand sewing. The new medium is most definitely stiff and thick.I thought I would be able to cut it with kitchen scissors, but nope. I wound up using a Dremel with cutting disk to slice through it with several shallow passes of the rotating blade/disk.Be prepared to have several small fragments of debris from cutting the medium left behind to cleanup.(3) star review until I can determine long term us and after a water hose cleaning come this Spring 2024.

I have been waiting for these Japanese Filter Media to hit amazon.com for a while now. Pricing for these are fair as they are made in Japan. These are cut half sheets from the original size that come from Japan (80x40x1.5). Free Shipping made it even a better deal. I have been using this product for several years and the media hasn't shown any signs of breaking down. It is easily shapable to any size or shape filter box or home made filter system. Great media to establish and maintain a biological filtration system.

This item works as well as those you find in the pond stores. The great things about it are these; the cost being much less than the pond stores and you can cut this down to the exact size. You need with a fresh blade in a sheetrock knife. You will cut-score one side using the least amount of pressure, turn it over and bend the filter mat along the cut you just made. Move the knife along the folded edge slow and easy and that's it!
