About this item

  • This is a Japanese traditional wooden tea scoop for loose tea made of "Kabazaiku", a traditional craft in Kakunodate, Akita Prefecture, using natural cherry bark. Craftsmen make each piece by hand.
  • "Kabazaiku" is a craft that Japan is proud of, using the bark of wild cherry trees. Crafts are characterized by the beauty of their materials, but at the same time they are built on the superior properties of the materials.
  • Made from natural cherry bark, this green tea spoon has a beautiful color and wood grain.
  • Although the shape is the same, no two pieces have the same grain or color. The more you use it, the deeper color that is unique to wild cherry blossoms will change, and it will maintain its unique luster. It will never rust. Feel safe and secure in the warmth of nature.
  • The manufacturer, Yatsuyanagi, was founded in Kakunodate, Senboku City, Akita Prefecture in 1899, and has been manufacturing and selling "Kabazaiku" for generations. Using sophisticated techniques down to the millimeter level that have been passed down from generation to generation, each piece of "Kabazaiku" is made with care and is safe, secure, easy to use, and beautiful.
  • Size: 1.2"W x 2.8"D
  • Made in Japan
  • *As it is a natural raw material, the vertical and horizontal patterns, pattern formation, color, etc. vary depending on the individual and no two are the same. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may not be to your liking. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate your requests. We also recommend purchasing two or three and enjoying each one. I hope you can use it for a long time.

Product Description

Noguchi Kumataro
Noguchi Kumataro

Our company, Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.), was founded in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture by Kumataro Noguchi, the first generation of tea growers, and we are now in our fifth generation.

Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, has long flourished as a tea production area in the northern part of Japan, and its tea is now called Sashima-cha. Sashima-cha became the first Japanese tea exported to the United States in 1859 through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan.

We will create a new tea culture while carefully preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over five generations.
