I recently moved to a new apartment. I have used the regular pull up bar that you attach to the door frame for the last 3 years. However, it did not fit on my door frames at my new place. The door frames are slightly more narrow than most door frames. These worked perfectly. Price is more than what I would normally pay but there is literally not another pull up tool like this.PROS: It fits all door frames. I'm a 5'9 180 it supports me just fine. There is no slippage. Can easily use neutral grip and overhand grip. It's portable and you can use basically anywhere.CONS: If your door frame is narrow like mine you won't be able to do wide grip pull ups. Also do not swing while doing any type of pull-up. It's meant for strictly going up and down. Don't get me wrong it's pretty secure. But I can see that swinging with a lot of force can cause it slip off and fall. But like I said you will have to have a lot of force and momentum to get it off the frame.Overall it's great for home.

It's a good purchase but slightly expensive. It is surprisingly sturdy and can be used for dips and push-ups as well. I actually really appreciate that. It is not exactly intuitive immediately how to put it on a door frame the first time; you have to figure out what works best for you but once it is on, it is on and it is very good. The grip is a little bare-bones but you can order those standard foam tube things to put around it.I don't like how it looks slightly cheap... The welding that connects the grips to the thing is a little rough.9.3/10.

For years I’ve been using the more tradtional doorway pullup bars that mostly rest on the edges of door frame s, have been using the kind with neutral grip options and happy, no damage to the door frame either, especially because I use extra padding between the door frame and pull up bar. But I started looking for another option that is more travel friendly because I’ll be travelling for work more often and recently went on a two week trip overseas. These work great! They are compact and worked just about everywhere I stayed except for a hotel in an island off Greece that had no tradtional door frames to grab on to. Ive even been using now that ive been back and dissassembled my old bulky pull up bar. They grab around the frame nicely and leave no marks at all so far. Only two issues: 1) the little grips that fold down are useless, I tried to put some weight on them and one began bending so I stopped and now it’s permanently crooked, for me it’s fine because I prefer the neutral grip but if I didn’t it would be a deal breaker because there is no way those straight grips would’ve held my weight 2) I definitely heard more creeking from the doorframe than I did with the other pull up bar but if I go slow it mostly stops, this has changed the way I do pull ups but am fine with it as going slower I feel my joints don’t bother me as much. Otherwise the pros outweigh the cons. It’s a little pricey but mostly seem well built and hopefully will last a long time.

First impression when pulling these out of the box was that I was impressed by how sturdy they felt and I liked the design. That was short lived. I am now on my second set of these, the first having been replaced for the exact same reason, and they have failed after the first use. I weigh 195 pounds and was not abusing these. The metal in the cutout of the grip that allows the perpendicular bar to rotate flat continually bends and then creates an angle that is greater than 90 degrees (see pictures). Bad design. Needs to be reinforced in this area.

I love everything about the product. Setup is incredibly easy. It's as stable as it needs to be. It didn't mark the paint. It looks cool. It fit doorframes even wider than the specifications. The handles end up about as high as they can with room to grip them. They can be flipped around and moved to accommodate pretty much any grip, though the wider I went the more likely it was to slide a little toward the center. There's one thing I didn't like: the price. I got it because I didn't want to mark the doorframe; I had another pull-up bar before with that problem. Then I checked the NYT wirecutter recommendations and found a much cheaper pull-up bar that also was supposed to not mark the doorframe. I got both to compare. The bar is heavier, harder to assemble, and has more limitations on which doors it fits, but the bar doesn't mark the door. While I prefer the Jayflex handles, and I was really tempted to return the $35 bar instead of the $120 handles, I decided it wasn't worth the price difference.

Very well made exercise equipment, exactly what I was looking for. Had hoped to use abroad (Ireland) however, door frames/moldings were too wide and did not provide enough clearance to get my hands around grip bars. A "European" version with longer support bars to accommodate the different construction codes would be great, though, not sure if the demand would be robust enough to justify the production modifications.

I used it for the first time and it worked great. I travel for work and wanted a way to do pull-ups at the hotel I stay at, and just from visual inspection (eyeballing) of the door frame I thought that there’s no way it would be able to sit on top of a small frame and feel secure. I was proven wrong and it’s a game changer. I can finally do hanging exercises in my hotel room. Some exercises I’ve tested and like are wide pull ups, leg raises, windshield wipers, and l-sits. I do all the exercises in a very controlled motion since I read on here that more dynamic moves can make it feel less secure and/or is not recommended.

This is a solid, decent product. It’s perfect for travel, or if you lack space. I have a free standing pull up bar at home, but these little fellas are great for travel. They are light enough to carry in a backpack or holdall, but sturdy enough to be a solid product. They are easy to use, just watch your fingers for pinching in the spring loaded mechanism. They are surprisingly stable for pull/chin ups in three positions, and I use them for knee and leg raises. The guidance is to use under the bars, not anything that will cause them to dislodge. I had zero problems with the exercises I do. I also use them for two types of deeper push ups, but had a little slip, so make sure they are in the correct position, and be mindful, as they can be prone to movement. I would highly recommend this product, despite its higher cost. For me it was everything I needed for travel. The rubber grips did remove a small amount of paint, but it was not visible on the paintwork itself, as it’s just above the door frame. Take care to measure your doorframe, as it may not fit very wide frames, but is fine for standard UK frames.I weigh 80kg, and it held my weight just fine. The design is clever and seems reliable. I used them for two weeks, with few problems. An issue is the grips do slide and rotate somewhat, so will interfere with your grip, and the front handles that fold down, do dip at a downward angle, so takes a little getting used to. After a few uses, I found the adjustment ok. I previously used a £30 simple doorway bar, but despite no issues with it, never trusted it like the CrossGrips, and it left large rectangle marks in the paintwork. It was also terrible for travel. The other issue may be the size of the handles, I have tiny little girly hands for a fella, and my hands took up the full grip space.I think there is no substitute for a free standing bar, they're just so sturdy, and can deal with all kinds of movement. But for the rest of the market, these are the best I could find, and most YouTube reviews seemed to say the same thing. The company were really good to deal with, communication was excellent, and after a supply issue, they came reasonably quickly to the UK from the US. They aren’t cheap, but on the plus side, delivery was free if you opt for standard delivery. I will continue to use the CrossGrips when I travel, and hopefully, they will last as a product. Nice one guys! 👍

The worst thing about these is that the pipe is slightly too thin; sufficiently so that it is painful to grip at length; nothing to do with grip strength. I wish I had just bought a normal pull up bar. I'm now looking for grips to put on these things.

These things are a bit expensive compared to other similar alternatives, but they're worth every penny.I've checked a few video reviews before buying them and I don't regret it. Super handy for quick home workouts!
