I have seen a few reviews where they question the strength of this tool. On my first attempt to use it I was tending to agree with them. I was trying to install a new serpentine belt because the old one had broken, and the tensioner didn't want to move to the point I was concerned that the tool would fail as I had seen in some of the review photos. I spoke with a independent mechanic about it and he said it might have seized and might need to be replaced. I went ahead and purchased a new tensioner and installed it. With the new tensioner the tool easily moved it. So if it won't move you tensioner you may need to replace it.

Tight spaces getting to that idler pulley on most vehicles. This tool works.

Iv'e already used this a couple times and it functions as intended. The welds on the back are a little messy and the crows feet arent the greatest but for the price it beats the Pittsburgh set at harbor freight. Ive done chevy express belts, isuzu belts and even a international belt and ive seen no points of failure so i would recommend this tool for use.

I was attempting to change the belt and pulley tensioner for a 2007 Honda Element. I purchased this tool based on the specs. The crows foot adapter fit and I was easily able to hold the tension as imagined. However, there was one thing that was not obvious, the upper engine mount on the side of the belt would be in the way. So although it was capable, of the intended purpose, it was not useful in my application without the removal of the engine mount. This step was not in my shop manual, so I didn't do it, and thus couldn't use the tool... I ended up watching youtube and finding a video of someone using a pair of wrenches together, to basically create this tool with the needed angle to not have to remove the upper engine mount. So it did great for what it was, but I ended up not using it. I'll keep it because it is still useful... hopefully for another car or application.

This is one of those tools that *really* needs to come with a case or some way to store all the pieces together. One star off for coming on a blister card. Also, the one socket I needed for a Honda Odyssey (not exactly an obscure application) wasn’t included. Another star off. Before buying a serpentine belt tool, I recommend watching Project Farm’s recent (1/25) video on them.

Only long bar with 3/8 square drive was used to change the serpentine belt on my Nissan Murano 2019. The official dealer asked $250 for such a simple work, the neighbourhood’s garage estimated around $180. I performed the replacement paying only $45 for the set.

Great tool! however it did not come with the good socket for my car, but I was able to use another socket from my sent and attach it to this bar. I love it! super simple! It's not a 5 star because I feel like the quality can be a bit better, for the price.
