I like to try out any sewing notion, and had been wanting a set of bias tape binding tools so had to order these. They have a solid metal feel to them. There are no rough edges. I like the bright colors of the plastic parts and appreciate that each size is a different color. These come with metric mm markings instead of English inch markings. I'd definitely prefer if these were labeled in inches instead so I don't have to keep referring to the included insert to check the size. It's easier to grab the 1/4" than to remember that 6mm is equal to 1/4". Perhaps if I used these often enough, that wouldn't be a problem, but this will be an infrequent use item in my sewing room. I appreciate the color photos on the insert to make the instructions more clear. I struggled some with my first attempt at using the 3/8" tool. By having to tug at the bias cut strip of fabric to pull it through, it stretched on the bias, making the finished strip is not as flat as it should be. I'll know to be more careful on my next try, but there seems to be a bit of a learning curve with using these. Overall, I think they'll be handy to have when needed, but I'll have to check the instructions for the correct size, and test it with a scrap strip before making the needed bias tape.

This is a nice variety pack of sizes of bias tape makers. They are a little lighter weight than some name brand ones I already had, but otherwise work just the same. I like having a good variety of widths so you can make your tape to suit any project.One thing to be aware of; though the description uses inches, the markings are in millimeters on the makers themselves. That's not a deal breaker for me, I'm not doing anything that needs that level of precision, but it is a little annoying. It's easy enough to solve with a sharpie and some math, but I'm not sure why it's marked differently than the description.

Bias tapes are wonderful to use for binding any sewing project. You can buy bias tapes at the fabric store, but you are limited to the size and fabric color that is available at the store. Being able to make your own at home using any fabric you wish gives you so many more options and can also save you money. So having a bias tape maker set like this is a great idea.I’ve found that these work pretty well. This set gives me all the size options I need. You just have to make sure your fabric strips are cut precisely and have an iron handy so you can press your bias tape as you pull it out of the tape maker. It works well, it makes very nice bias tapes, and it’s quite fun to use.

They feel really sturdy, and I really hoped these would work well, but I can't figure out how to get my fabric to pull though and actually make decent binding tape for my quilt. I thought maybe my fabric was too wide, so I tried the next size up, but all I'm getting is fabric that's not rolled correctly and kinda lumpy. It's most likely user error, but I think for now I'll stick to manually making my bias tape.

This has been my first experience with bias tape makers, but I’ve seen my mom make her own for years with the same sort of tool, and so I know enough about it, and it was about time I started creating my own bias tape. These bias tape makers are a standard tool for many people who sew. I found them sturdy and easy to use, and I was able to make my own bias tape without much trouble. Any difficulties I ran into were a result of my technique (which I was able to correct with practice) and not the tool’s fault. I’m very pleased with the quality of these bias tape makers and I’m sure I’ll be using them for a very long time.
