They feel pretty solid, don't take up much space and they feel like they will give me something to shove under the wheels for traction around here if the necessity arrives. That is the goal.

I bought these because I have limited space and the max Trax style traction boards are so bulky. Finally got a chance to use them after toting them around for about a year. We were stuck in mud in a dry lake bed with nothing to winch off of. My friend had max Trax and I had these with some digging and persistence we were both able to get out but, I found that due to the slimmer profile of these traction mats it was easier for my tiers to grip them and pull them under. They won't do all the same things that max Trax clame to but for getting out of the mud they work better in my opinion.

These are pretty good. I was worried about being so inexpensive but have it a shot. As soon as they came in, I have them the one over and ordered more for the family. The price is great, there compact to store anywhere and solid enough to work more than once.

Had to use these this past winter. My daughter got her car stuck and we kept digging and digging but couldn't get it out. Purchased these and put them down under the tires, threw some kitty litter down too, and we got it out.

I bought this because it packs up very small and I could easily stash it in my UTV or my Subaru. These traction mats were tested on a stuck Bobcat UTV Sidewalk Snowplow during a 4 inch snowstorm. The mats were gripped by the tires, however, they did not provide traction and kept shooting out the front of the tires. With about 10 attempts, the bottom of the mats are now scuffed up. I could not self-rescue the machine.Remarks:The thickness is the biggest compromise in performance. There aren't any fangs aggressive enough to grip the ground, and the waffle texture of the plastic isn't deep enough to trap snow. The material choice resembles plastic children's sleds and feels slippery. I can't say with any certainty, but I believe the folding aspect of these mats also hurts the grip performance. However, the mats do provide a much larger contact patch than the tires alone, so that benefit is still present.Overall:Inconclusive. These mats may very well be better than nothing at all and can easily stash in a winter road kit. At this price, I certainly wouldn't cry if they broke or never rescued a vehicle. I will update if I do end up self-rescuing with these.

I bought these to use out in the mojave desert because my van kept getting stuck in the sand. One day a very large heavy truck carrying a porta potty to the cabin got stuck in the sand. Unbelievably these worked and helped get that huge truck out of the sand. I thought for sure these would be broken into pieces from the weight of the truck. But they were totally intact. I hesitated to buy these because they were cheaper than anything else available on Amazon. I am sure glad that I bought them. They weren't a deal, they were a steal.
