Cannot find a chain breaker for 1.65 pitch trencher chain, so I ordered this breaker on the chance I could make it work. I had success but had to grind a couple of notches in one set of the jaws to accommodate the taller side plate of the trencher chain. It is a bit of trouble to get it in the center of the ground off rivet but it worked way better then beating on the rivet on the floor with a hammer & punch. I call it a win, saves quite a bit of time & you can do the job on the trencher.

At the Millwright I change quite often this thing is made a good quality and is heavy seems like it may last a pretty good while of constant use however the ratchet that comes with it is very flimsy mine broke the first chain I was breaking but I didn't order it for the ratchet either the handle should be able to screw into holds more securely versus you slide in but it works I will continue to buy as needed

this chain breaker, hit the mark, made splitting a 20B Duplex chain so easy. only down side was the ratchet handle, kept slipping on the mechanism, ended up using my own.

The four arms that hold up the bottom half of the chain breaker are not stout enough. After pushing two pins out two of the arms bottom holes on one side of the chain breaker stretched the holes out. The chain breaker became unusable after that.

I used both. Both work very well and had no problem. I would definitely recommend it. I bought it for myself and everyone else keeps asking me to borrow both pieces, lol.

I am a 3rd shift lead for conveyor maintenance and we use several drive chains of 100 and up, but dont have a break for anything over an 80, so the job usually has to waist lots of time cutting and pounding to get the length of chain to replace one. I bought this for our shift to use to help us out and they guys love it, has saved lots of time with no issues. Works great, does not drive the pin all the way out but after having to use a grinder and etc just to get the right length chain, we are not picky. I do recommend this tool if you work with larger chains.

Not certain if it is the handling or the packaging as the push pin was missing from the open package. This does not appear to be the sellers issue but the shippers issue. Of course when tools are needed immediately this is not conducive to getting the job done and more needs to be done to insure the items are shipped complete the first time.

I work on a lot of chain. This chain break works perfectly. It's always best to grind the pin heads off before using a chain breaker, but even in the few instances where conditions make using a grinder impractical, the breaker works just fine. I would buy it again if I needed 2....

I have never used it, as those chains haven`t broke once since I bought it, but it seems very solid to me.

Little on the small and flimsy side. Should work for 50-80 pitch roller chain thought it was going to fall apart or strip out trying to use it on 100 pitch. Doesn't open wide enough to be of much use on 100 pitch either.
