Built for contour finishing, mitering, flat finishing, beveling, and precision finishing jobs, the rugged JET industrial belt and disc finishing machine (model J-4200A-2 / 414552) has a belt that operates at any angle, and conforms to curves, angles, or circular finishing and grinding operations. It also offers a heavy duty 1-1/2 HP, 230-volt totally-enclosed fan-cooled motor, vibration-free fully-machined and balanced disc, and a die cast aluminum miter gauge that helps you easily sand plain and compound miters.
Other features include an adjustable heavy-duty cast iron removable platen, removable upper guard for contour finishing, large cast iron slotted table, adjustable dust collector and dust chute, completely enclosed drums and a guarded sanding belt, and heavy-duty one-piece stand.

After much comparing and shopping, we decided on this unit. Knowing JET is a good middle of the road brand, I had some doubts about the machine. Though I was able to use one at a friends shop before making my purchase.The unit arrived sooner than expected which is always nice. Very good packaging/crating, nothing damaged. Installed the sanding belts I had purchased separately and went to town using it. No regrets. Good power, easy on/off buttons, good height for someone 6'3" tall.The reason for 4 stars, the V-belt from the electric motor to the drive pulley tore apart withing a week of having this unit in the shop. Just bought a Gates brand replacement belt from local auto parts store and changed it out. Going strong ever sense. It's mostly used to de-burr metal parts. I do wish there was a guard for the sanding belt below the table rest area. As it is, the belt is exposed. I could easily see someone getting their un-tucked shirt tail caught in the sanding belt if they were careless. We plan to make one just for safety precautions.Al in all, very satisfied.

there's a lot of options for belt/disc sanders out there. Price wise this was at the top of my budget, but no regrets. Runs very smooth and consistent. A lot of power. Very happy with the product
