Strainer has small holes for a trash pump. I drilled many out to 1inch and have had no problem. Good quality for the money.

Had I read the reviews first, I would have caught that the ad is misleading. I thought I was buying a hose set with 25 foot suction line. Money well spent, look how much smarter I am now.

PLEASE NOTE: The suction hose is 15'. I wouldn't have bought this product if I'd realized the hose was that short. When I opened the package, I thought "That looks kinda short." I measured it, came back to look at the description, and yup, I'd bought a 15' hose when I thought I was buying a 25' hose. I have water rights to the river adjacent to my property, but the river is low, the bank is very steep, and my land is so parched it needs a good flooding before it spontaneously combusts.Anyway, I'm looking for a longer suction hose. I haven't decided if I'm going to return this one. If I'm able to use it, I'll update my review.Climate change is real, y'all.

This is just what I needed for my 3" trash pump to suck the muck out of a small pond. Works great.
