You'd be just as well off practicing on a wooden table, the surface is super hard and barely any rebound, not to mention it's ridiculously loud. Get something better, literally why do they even manufacture this, you'd be better off using a mouse pad even

I guess I imagined 4.5 inches as bigger. 😉 I returned it and spent the money on a pad with a wooden base, case & sticks.

I ordered this for school, it was small and a great size to keep on a ASD students desk when drumming is needed. It came and wasn’t glued together properly (it is two pieces, not a solid piece). So I attempted to glue it because he loved it, but nothing worked. He ended up breaking the base in half. Don’t waste your money on a shorty product.

The only thing I don't like is that the bottom is too smooth.I put it on a foam rubber boat cushion to deaden the sound more and keep it in place.A mouse pad would do the trick also.As for those who say the pad comes away from the wood base, I would suggest Liquid Nails.

If you’re looking for a practice piece that can literally be held in the palm of your hand this is for you. My son can’t even practice on it because there’s not room for two drum sticks to hit it. Disappointing.

It got a very strong chemical smell that my be dangerous for anyone. Got lots of scratches on it and it’s very sticky!!. This is definitely the worst thing I’ve got from Amazon.
