If you do play guitars and basses, this little item is great. It tells you string heights in millimeters, inches, and hundredths of an inch. Excellent for making sure your action is correct for you. It can also help you determine what is going on at the nut and if that needs adjusting. Very easy to use. I generally adjust my own instruments, but I have a RIC 4003 with a neck that hasn't completely calmed down yet and I have my luthier adjust my bass and RIC 330. Those dual truss rods are a two person affair to set correctly. I have several of these and have one in my "tool box" and in a number of guitar/bass cases.

The product is not as thick of material as the main competitor, but is a very useful tool for adjusting instrument action. As an instrument repair technician of many years experience, I find the Imperial system (inches and fractions of inches) is not well refined in subdivisions as compared to the Metric system. Once you learn standard instrument setups in Metric terms, you’ll want to take advantage of this accuracy at all times. A good value!

If you are looking for a string action gauge, look no further, this is the finest string action gauge available. It's 100% accurate, 100% properly machined and 100% High quality. It's made from stainless steel, has no sharp edges and is Made in The USA. If you want junk look elsewhere, if you want something built to last, this is it. I have tried string gauges from other companies and you get what you pay for, cheap aluminum, jagged edged pieces of junk that are not accurate. When you hold this in your hand, you can feel and see the quality. I should also mention that shipping is very fast too. This wasn't available on Prime shipping, but I ordered it anyway and it arrived in just 2 days.

Along with this tool and some videos on you tube, I was able to set my string action and pickup height easily. I recommend making sure your truss rod is adjusted beforehand so your measurements are correct. This tool is cheap compared to taking your guitar to the shop for stuff like this.

Using on a 24 fret Ibanez neck was not accurate somewhat of a disappointment as another tool was needed.

J'ai choisi de payer plus cher pour cette carte de mesure que d'autres produits concurrents parce que je voulais un outil fiable, durable, précis et de qualité. Peut-être que les autres cartes moins chères peuvent être efficaces, mais je n'ai pas pris de chance. La marque Dunlop est bien connue et a bonne réputation. Et le prix n'est pas si élevé après tout.
