  • Developed in close collaboration with Munky and head
  • Carefully tailored to the tonal and tactile dynamics of 7-string guitars

Korn’s Head and Munky helped kick off the nu-metal movement with 7-string guitars and aggressive downtuned grooves. Searching for a way to evolve that sound and fully unlock the true potential of their instruments, they came to Dunlop. We worked closely with both players to build a set of strings around Heavy Core technology for increased dynamic range, optimal tension when drop-tuned, and incredible tuning stability. This is that set of strings—carefully tailored to the tonal and tactile dynamics of 7-string guitars. It’s the sound and feel that Head and Munky depend on whether they’re cutting tracks in the studio or throwing it down on stage.

I have probably have tried every single string company you can possibly name or imagine seeking tone for death metal, specifically drop A on a six string guitar with a hardtail bridge and non-active pickups.Ive also tried their Slipknot version both types, the Trivium version, the non-artist series heavy cores; all sorts of Dunlop string options and this hands down, is the best sounding string set they sell to date for metal.I just drop the high E string off and play the .65 to .13 sizes. They last forever, they hold great tone, I have low end, I have high-end, I absolutely love the response and feel of these strings. I will probably never put any other strings on my guitar ever. Best Bang for buck and I will die on that hill 😤

Way back in the 80's I thought the lighter the strings, the easier it was to play the guitar for rock and metal. I upgraded to some 7 string guitars in the past several years and still thought the lightest strings were the way to go. I got these, because something about the technique I was using, just didn't give me the speed I wanted. The strings needed to be stiffer. A whole lot stiffer. I first did a 6 string with some rather heavy strings and it was like a lightbulb of skill just kicked off. So I got a set of these for my 7 string drop A and I swear I can hear angels singing. Triplet note gallops used to be difficult to lock in and now that difficulty isn't there. There's a bit less muddiness in the lower notes and a lot more precision. I am definitely getting another set or two as this set is just excellent. I like how it responds to speed picking and how quickly the firmer strings respond. It's like the different between walking on sand or walking on concrete.Let's be honest, you have a 7 string because of metal, which means you need strings that respond fast to picking. This set is a good place to start.

I gave up on Korn as a band at least a decade ago but I love the feel and sound of these strings. My last set of strings made me regret buying a seven string, the Korn set motivated to play more.Yes, you need a 7 string. Yes, you want these strings.

I always keep my 7 string in Standard E and the low string tuned to A, and it's perfect for that. It was kinda weird to have the top strings tuned a note below E, but with some set up it can do that

I got a Solar 1.7PB and wanted it to be shreddy but tuned down a step. It has the Evertune bridge so I kind of gambled on the tensions, but their calculator shows even at standard tension strings this gauge set is OK with standard modules. So I put these on and hoped for the best. After setting it up in D standard with the 065 drop G I can report it plays gloriously. They feel like 9s for the most part, but the solar is 26.5" scale.I've been playing them hours a day for a couple weeks and they seem to be going strong. I read a couple reviews where people said they went flat fast, but I haven't seen any indication of that. Maybe they just need to wash their hands more?Either way these strings are great, and though I don't care about the Korn branding, the gauge and heavy core is perfect for shred setups down a step on 26.5" scale. In case you were wondering..

The low string on 7 string guitars will rattle if you don't get a heavy gauge. This was exactly what I was wanting. The low string booms and is just what I was hoping for.

Kann mich den Rezensionen nur anschließen. Saiten sind sehr hochwertig, kommt auf jede meiner 7-Saiter.

As the title suggests, along with the indication on the box these strings start extremely thick, almost like a bass string and get nice and thin at the top for some ripping leads! They sound extremely punchy and respond well to pinches and natural harmonics. I Put them on a Cheap 7 string and the strings brought it to life. Really tight, chuggy and fast. highly reccommend
