I am just learning macro photography but I thought this was very useful to get varying degrees of light on the subjects. The LED lights are completely adjustable with a dial which is really helpful in getting the exact lighting you need. The light ring also comes with various adapters to fit a variety of lens sizes.

I take photos while doing automotive investigations. That means I am often under a car or have my head buried in an engine compartment. The problem is there is usually not enough light.Pros: This light is bright and can be aimed via the flexible shafts. This will work best if you are working with a tripod shooting a fixed item.Cons: I don’t use a tripod so the stalks wind up hitting things. The shoe mount isn’t super secure so when the stalks hit something they wind up pointing in the wrong direction.Bottom line: excellent light, but not the best for my needs.

This ring flash is easy to set up and use. It actually has significantly longer battery life than a previous and much more expensive ring flash I was using until that one died. I’m very satisfied with the quality of the lighting it provides, and all my macro photography has vastly improved!

This small lighting system works really well for nature photography in the field. You don't have to mount it on the camera and it will also attach to a tripod using the standard 1/4 inch screw mount.

Worked fine for a few weeks, but then wouldn't charge anymore regardless of which cord or charger I used. Return window had closed, but Amazon refunded my money anyway. Instructions were worthless (and very tiny). Light was somewhat heavy, but manageable. Hopefully the company can improve their quality control, and I might try another iteration of this again.

This was a very useful light for about three weeks and then it stopped charging. It doesn’t work plugged in either so it’s useless now.The light was useful before that, and the material coating the gooseneck feels really nice. But the light is useless if it won’t charge or run plugged in.

Very good macro light for the price. I wish it had a smaller beam, with a diffuser option, and maybe colored gel attachments, but overall great product.

At some point I’ll pay more for a better macro ring but this works well. Good selection of attachments for different size lenses. Light is adjustable. I used it to photograph ice and seaweed in sea caves and it helped a lot

This is a light, not a flash, which means it's on fulltime. It's exactly what you want for video and (possibly) macro photography, though it can get irritating to your talent during portrait shoots. If that's what you're after, then this is an outstanding light. The body itself is plastic, but of decent quality. The adapters are metal, and solid. The reason I chose this one specifically was because it was one-piece; no wires or hot shoe adapter. Simply screw it onto your lens, and you're good to go.Plus: it's silent! No switch mode supply noise at any brightness - required for video use!The color temperature is high (probably around 6500K, though I haven't measured), so if I'm not using a grey card, I normally just punch it in at the overcast setting, and it works well. The attached sample photo was taken at 120mm (35mm equiv) f/8, 1/8th of a second. With the light off, it was metering in around 10 seconds.5 stars and highly recommended.

Not bright enough. I have to buy a ring flash now as it wasn’t strong enough and my ISO had to reach 2000 to 3000 .
