It takes two hands with thumb strength to start and relearning how to rock my wrist on a weak start took 20 or so seconds which was frustrating.Resistance is very good, the gyro is heavy which adds resistance at slow speeds over my ball from the 2000s. I was able to alternate hands easy even in my first session (combating carpel tunnel) but started with the wrist strap just in case. Probably better to keep it on for longer sessions - I was going back and forth to get longer short burst work to build up strength.Also, the lights are fun.

This gyro ball was defective. No worries, it can happen to anyone. But when we attempted to return it, the vendor never sent us the required return documentation. I would not trust this vendor again.

My daughter had one of these several years ago and when I came across this one, I went ahead and ordered it. I’m 65 years old. I can’t do it very long, but I’m building up and it definitely strengthens your grip and your wrist. You’ve got to have a certain rhythm to keep it going though. It’s really fun to play with.

Absolute junk. Even if I can get the gyro started,by the time I start moving my wrist to exercise it stopped. So disappointed. I need the hand and wrist exercise.

When it works, it works quite well. There's a little resistance provided and you have to work to keep the ball spinning. It does feel like a mild workout for the fingers and wrists. A nice case and wrist strap are included.However, this is an unpowered device. To 'start' it, you are meant to rotate the wheel a little against an inner spring that gets the ball spinning then keep the momentum going with your hand. Slow down -- or get the rhythm wrong -- and the spinning stops. I found getting that rhythm right to be unreliable. Minus a star for that.Also, the spring mechanism appears to have some kind of clutch mechanism that doesn't always engage so you rotate the ball (in the indicated direction) and there's no resistance and therefore no starting. Knocking the ball a bit can get the clutch to engage but this was unreliable out of the box so I have little faith in that. Minus another star.

This is the second rotating handball device I've owned. This is the first one with lights on the inside. It was great until it broke. I got just over a month using it regularly and then one day it just stopped working and does not rotate as it should.

We received this earlier this week. I tried and can't get it to start, but then again I also have arthritis starting in my thumb joint. My sons got it to start and they are thoroughly enjoying it. So much so they can eat on what color they can get it up to. My college student leaves tomorrow and I think I may have to buy a second one.

It is faulty. We watched the You Tube videos and several friends tried - it didn't work
