The needle is very durable and i have not broken the tip or anything yet. This is used for sewing cable using the Kansas City stitch. I can't tell you how valuable having a sewing needle while lacing cable can be. I hate using the plastic handle version from Jonard, because it is just plain cheap. The lucent orange plastic handle needle was amazing but they don't make that one anymore. Just remember to check with your central office regulations to see if you can use an uninsulated tool in your workspace. To those that might not be a professional telecom installer, this would make a great tool to help you to tidy up those newtowrking closets, etc. Don't get the cheaper version, go for quality, that way you don't end up buying it twice.

This tool is well-made and should stand up to many years of use. Most of the simple cable lacing I do does not require one of these, but when you want to push or pull lacing into or between bundles of wires, this is the tool to have.

After using this tool in numerous applications, my lacing proficiency and speed has increased exponentially. I recommend this tool to anybody having trouble getting in between tight crevices

Very well made. It does the job, I like the anodized handle, looks good on the peg board. I use it for retro cable lacing.
