this key only works on old school style FLAT HEAD BARREL LOCKS , E J BROOKS flat head , some INNER TITE , national grid #6 , Rexnord #6 (barrel locks sold on e bay) , and some other #6 flat head old styles ... IT WILL NOT WORK ON CON ED RAISED HEAD BARREL LOCKS OR THE HIGH SECURITY BARREL LOCKS UNLES YOU MODIFY IT, you have to get a dremel tool and cut the sides a certain way , but beware if you cut it wrong it wont work . YES IT CAN OPEN SOME IN NYC BUT ONLY SOME OF THE OLD FLAT HEADS.

The tool has a rubber boot that protects the working end. That end was broken and there were no pieces inside the boot so I know it was not damaged in shipping. It must have been broken when someone packed it. I have already sent it back, but have not received a replacement. I will improve this rating if I get a replacement.

Didn't work for detriot DTE electric meter. Seems like a decent tool.

I am an Electrical Contractor and live in So. Cal. This tool does not work on Edison locks.
