I purchased the brass picture light. It's the most beautiful perfect brass. Not too bright in yellow, and not too dull. The light color is more of a bright white -cooloer tone --(NOT daylight) and not a soft white (warmer tone). I would have prefer it to be more of a soft white, but it's not a deal breaker since we won't be turning it on often. The way it look is more important for me.I purchased it hardwire because I don't want to see the plug-- BUT I still want it to be "plugged" in since we don't want to pay $$$ for an electrician to create a new switch. So we purchased a "combo switch outlet" from Lowes for $10 to achieve this. Add an electrical code to the picture light, run it inside the wall down directly to the combo switch outlet. My husband wired it into the combo switch - so I can turn the light on and off from that outlet. It works perfectly. Give that a try if you're like me and 1. don't want to see any plug, 2. still need it to be a on and off switch 3. save some money without hiring an electricianGood luck!UPDATE (Jan 2023):After looking far and wide, I found a way to correct the cool tone lighting to a soft white. So if you're like me and the stark cool tone lighting annoys you, buy the: Orange Color Correction Gel Filter Sheet 16x20 for Photo Studio Flashlight Led Light -- https://amazon.com/dp/B0881479BM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsYou can open the side of the light (very easy), cut a 1.5-2inch wide of the filter sheet mentioned above, and slowly insert it into the light tube. It goes in easily. I did 3 layers of the sheet and the color is now a perfect soft white - equal to the color an LED 2700 lightbulb. I hope that helps!

Very pricey but great illumination for paintings. In bedroom, we found it to be a perfect 'nightlight' especially long winter evenings. Easy to install and the small touch pad easily fits on a bedside table.

I took the advice of another reviewer on here named "akya" who shared this below and it worked great for us. We used 2 sheets instead of 3 for the desired color we wanted and used a pocket knife to pop off the end piece. We have to still center our wing installation and put more work into this hallway/stairwell renovation but this light is brighter than we expected and lights the stairwell nicely below which we really like.After looking far and wide, I found a way to correct the cool tone lighting to a soft white. I bought it in October while the new house was being built, not until two weeks ago we had power in the house, and then I realized that it wasn't operational. It just doesn't light up. Unfortunately, the returning period only lasts 30 days and I can't do anything. Lesson learned? Do not buy fixtures too far in advance.

We bought this and worked great at first but after 6 months it started to flicker and then one day started smoking. Do not recommend.Edit: the seller reached out and made this right. Will say they have excellent customer service.

Easy enough to install (like any other light fixture) if anything it’s a bit too bright for a picture light. I put a strip of electrical tape on the back of it so it casts only a narrow strip of light.
