Large cubes that do not melt after adding to a drink.roughly 40 quarts from a single load of the hopper in about 8 hours.you can fill three 48 quart ice chests per day as long as you empty the hopper when it is full.works pretty much flawlessly with no real moving parts (unlike those flimsy arms like on those little home ice makers, with the mushroom cubes that evaporate as you add them to a drink). Stops making ice when hopper is full, a flap over water tray lowers when ice cannot fall into the hopper. restarts making ice again when ice flap raises back up.I like it and I think we can have it repaired fairly easily should it ever need servicing.whether you use plumbing/pressurized water or are using a water bottle/jug you'll have no issues. I would recommend raising the external water bottle/jug about 8 inches higher than base of unit to ensure the filling is reliable. Any higher and you'll overflow the water tray inside machine. any lower and it seems to run the internal water tray dry as the water level in the bottle/jug drops lower.this unit NEEDS to be in a air conditioned room as it is not insulated. If you were to use it in a hot garage the ice will melt too fast!you can set a timer for how long to make ice as well. you can also adjust the ice hardness up or down. also has a cleaning mode where you can run vinegar through it and clean out everything inside the plumbing lines.Unlike the small consumer models you can also ACTUALLY REACH inside without disassembly and mechanically clean EVERYTHING else.Great ice maker and we've been using it everyday for 7+ months! The drain hose works well and you will need to run that line to something like a washer hose drain which we are using. Both the washer drain hose and the ice maker hose fit in the same drain pipe. Occasionally I have to lift the drain hose up and let it drop down in a swift motion to start the melting ice water to drain off. But that is occasionally as only sometimes does it not drain correctly. I suspect little pieces of ice jam the drain hole and cause the drain line to break the siphon. In any cause we have been well pleased, always have plenty of ice and and no real issues with it.

Pros:- makes lots of ice: 100lb per day easily even without emptying every time it is full- fast: makes ice in about 12 minutes when it first starts and every 8 minutes or so after that- stores a lot: if you emptying the whole bin it will easily fill a 20lb bag. I'm sure it holds 33lb if you crush everything up all the time and maximize itCons:- ice needs manually broken apart once half full or so. This is because it drops a full sheet of ice and it doesn't break apart if it doesn't have far to drop. It isn't hard to break it apart at all.- no drain pump: this is the biggest problem. It comes with a dishwasher drain hose but if you install it above your sink trap it will be too high to drain. Honestly I'm not sure how they expect you to properly hook this up to your drain without letting sewer gasses rise (because it'd be below the trap). I have it drain into a bucket and I use the bucket to fill the dog water bowls and plants around the house. Not a big deal, but a pump would be perfect.

Work great. Makes more ice than we need. Only complaint is, When ice comes off in a sheet and I need to break them up in to single cubes.

Conversed with customer service several times who seem to have a negative answer each time. The issue I had/have is that when the ice drops. It starts defrosting straight away and water runs down into the holding tank from the top part causing the ice to melt. If you have to leave it there for even 30 seconds, most of your ice has melted wasting not only you time but power costs also! I ended up putting a plastic shoe box inside to catch the ice so it didn’t fall into the almost 1†of water in the tank. Basically you have to stand beside this machine the entire time/day while it makes ice and grab it as soon as it’s done. If you don’t, it willmelt wasting your time and money. Was NOT worth the money or time spent with customer service. Buy another brand.

Purchased this for a small coffee shop at my church. This is an impressive little machine.A few comments:- It fits nicely under the counter and is quiet.- I have this machine hooked up to my reverse osmosis tank so the ice that comes out of it is crystal clear.- It's pretty impressive how fast it makes the ice. The very first time I started it I had clear cubes coming out within probably 10-12 minutes, and then slightly faster after the first set.- This machine does stop producing ice once the ice bin is full. It does this by ice produced resting on a small flap. This flap is held down by the ice that is unable to move out of the way. Once you use some of the ice the machine starts right back up.- When the bin is full it is probably close to 30 lbs of ice.- The scoop that comes with the unit is a little flimsy, but seems to scoop well.- You will need to either be prepared to manually drain this machine regularly, have it near a floor drain, or have some type of pump for the ice as it melts while sitting in the bin. The bin itself isn't chilled (I don't believe) so as the ice melts and the machine produces fresh ice the melted cubes will drain out of the bottom.- I have not tried adjusting the thickness of the ice as the current ice produced makes good cubes for our use.- It would be nice if the ice bin an lid were insulated a little better. As it is it appears there is only two layers of plastic with a small air gap between.- It would also be nice if the lid move more out of the way when it is opened to provide better access to the ice.

Now I have plenty of ice under the bar for cocktails, the cooler, or just a perfect iced tea. I love the size and convenience.
