I only needed to make a small modification to the trailer door frame so it fits good and functioning properly. Easy adaption. Update after 6 months of use.. the key won’t lock or unlock anymore. The pot metal material can’t handle daily use. It gets rounded out on the inside.

I just wonder how long its been since the push rod broke between the button and the latch lever... The screen door was catching when both doors were latched together and I thought it was the latch and and I replaced ir. It wasnt until the screen door handle failed that I took it apart and found the broken part inside. This is almost an exact match. I had to reuse the factory handle, its slightly flatter then the original and the screen would not latch to the main door.

These handles work great until the little pusher part inside bends or breaks. They last a couple years if treated very gently. The weak part is made of pot metal and breaks and bends easily. Wish you could buy the little part instead of having to buy the whole knob. Thinking of trying to get the part made on 3-D printer…

I should have looked at the reviews carefully. I put this on/off 6 times it was worse that the old one when trying to lock/unlock. It only worked occasionally and I was afraid of being locked out of the camper. I checked with my RV repairman and he says unfortunately JD is the only manufacture of this that he can find. So I put a latch and padlock on the door. We warned!

Ordered the part and for some reason when I received it it was missing all the components. I immediately contacted amazon/supplier and was given a new one. Delivery was quick. I am very happy with the product. Very easy to install on my pop up tent trailer. It is exactly like the original.

Installation is easy as any other lock of this type, but it failed after just a few weeks. The inside lock lever works, but I can no longer lock or unlock it from the outside using the key. I will be contacting the seller to request a replacement. Update: I left a number of phone messages and sent a number of emails to these people, all with no answer. Sure wish I had bought this item from someone else.
