These are premium pellets, measuring 2 inches and larger, containing at least one prey remains and often many more. This set contains 5 extra-large owl pellets and bone sorting sheet. Mountain Home Biological has been supplying pellets since 1994. All pellets are sorted, dried, heat treated and wrapped in our facility in Bingen, Washington and monthly samples are submitted to an independent lab for testing. Soak pellet in water for 2-3 mintues prior to dissecting.

I bought these for my elementary school-aged nephew who came to visit one day. It comes with a paper showing the schematics of the bones, so you can match up which bones belongs to which animal that the barn owl ate. It was fascinating and we had a blast!

Ordered several packs of 5 pellets and they arrived swifty. The packaging is excellent, and I was blown away by the sheer size of these pellets! Every one was 2†or longer, and girthy enough that I wondered at the species of sizeable owl that hurked them up. These barf balls will NOT dissapoint. I’ve already placed my next order.

Purchased multiple of these over the years and this last one will have me looking for a new company to buy from.The blocks are large, it hangs and has a large area for notes. However the cardboard backing is 3x thinner than it was on the last ones purchased. We pull from wall multiple times a week to plan and write the schedule in. The thicker backing was a huge selling point for us.

These are awesome specimens ! My partner and I were happy to find a smaller business to buy from on Amazon and the pellets we received were full of interesting specimens ! I also really appreciated the simple pamphlet included with purchase.

Oh man I remember dissecting one of these bad boys in grade school and I thought it was the coolest thing!! Fast forward quite a few years and I stumble upon this product! Y’all these are so cool to take apart and see what’s inside! I will say they do not supply tools and gloves so please don’t expect them in your bag, those were already mine. If you’re looking for a cool little project to do, you’ve found the right spot! As far as smell wise, it’s closer to smelling like wet woodchips, just don’t leave them in the water longer than what is listed on the sheet that is provided, they will get real stinky that way! All in all I will be buying these again! They are just too cool!! If you’ve been sitting on the idea of buying these like I did, it’s time to buy!! You won’t regret it!!

I recently provided a book review for a large group, covering the subject of owls. To enrich my presentation I ordered these owl pellets, performed dissection and displayed the skeletal contents for viewing and discussion. The audience truly enjoyed this addition to the verbal and slide photos. I feel that most any audience would enjoy the activity of pellet dissection to further their understanding of the owl population in general and specifically in their region. The pellets were exactly as described, decent sized, and have no odor or any disturbing features.
