I bought this 1" nozzle to get faster pouring for my tractor, what a difference it makes too. Its fast!! For some odd reason these 5 Gal cans keep getting heavier and heavier with every passing year my can see's? So' switching to this bigger nozzle now its flowing almost 2 times faster & sure helped relieve the strain from holding it up so long. My original nozzle is the smaller 5/8" for filling cars so now I have both nozzles. If this didn't work as planned my other idea was to put a rope/pulley in my rafters to hold the can up, but' I ordered this nozzle instead because its cheaper to do. Someday when my can is older & heavier I'll need that hoist setup though..lolAttention before buying big nozzle: Before you buy, first check if your cans valve is opening fully when your handle is fully squeezed. My cans valve wasn't opening all the way & this severely restricted its flow rate. I removed the cotter pin, placed an extra thick washer behind it to take up the slack and reinstalled the cotter pin. Very simple fix!! Now when I pull my valve handle back it starts to open sooner and I can pour gas faster too as it opens further. Before adding a washer when I pulled the handle to pour, my valve handle was almost half way up before it began to open/flow. This made me squeeze harder on the handle & curse out loud just trying to make it pour faster because it was so slow. Watching the valve on my can it was 3/4 the way open at best no matter how hard I squeezed because its valve handle bottomed out first. Just look how far your valve handle moves when squeezed, if it touches the main carry handle its like mine was and most likely not opening the valve fully, so simply adding a washer behind the cotter pin fixed mine. Just make sure the valve/cap can close after your handle is released after washer is added. Tip the can to try to pour gas out "without" pulling the valve handle up to make sure "no" gas comes out the nozzle/cap unless you pull the handle to open valve. If gas comes out then find a thinner washer to fit it or bend your valve "handle" some so there's a gap between both handles while its fully squeezed. I just took out as much slack as I possibly could but I left a small amount to allow for the cap closing & cap to raise for its pressure to release to work is all I done. You'll see what I'm talking about if yours has the same issue but' of course you'll know because it makes you curse like a sailor just trying to pour gas out too..lol Mine had no washer at all behind my cotter pin, I always wondered if one was supposed to be there and if mine was left out, but IDK? With this style of cans high safety standards Justrite quality control inspections are surely very tight so I doubt its washer was left off. Most likely its their bean counters saving on washers, thats my bet?Either way this flow rate issue is out there and if you fix it you might be happy enough to not buy this nozzle. I had to do both to be happy but' when it's flowing right you won't find a better can on the market with either nozzle you chose, I just love mine.Sorry long, just wanted people to know before spending more money.
