I am amazed how well this shedding comb works on my extremely hairy ragdoll. He gets balls under his arms, behind his ears, his hind legs and this shedder is like a "rake" getting right under them and breaking them up. It has enough room around the comb part to use a small scissor to clip the big parts out without getting near the skin. I can go slow, work on the edges of the hair clumps and he sits there and purrs. Narrow and thin enough to work on the finest of cats coats. It also works well thinning out my horse's mane.

This goes deep to pull out lots of fur and undercoat. I'm giving it 3 stars because my picture shows how it arrived. It didn't look used but it was in 3 pieces because the box was opened.

I don't think it is a de-shedding tool, but rather a detangling one. It does not work on short hair cats well. It takes out very few hair, comparing to furminator-type brush. But I do agree with other reviews that furminator-type fine metal comb traumatizes animal skin, that's why I was looking for another de-shedding brush in a first place. But this one doesn't work for me.

This looks like a torture device.It has big, substantial blunt hooks, not straight tines.My 16 year long haired Emily gets so matted that we have to shave her twice a year. Her fur is like white cotton. Those cotton wads are everywhere. She is a good kitty who puts up with most things.I thought she would hate this.SHE LIKES IT!She can put up with the tugging for a long time before she leaves. Otherwise she rolls over for more combing. The loose fur pulling seems to feel good, somehow.Go figure.This rake with hooks can gather up the cotton balls she deposits where she sleeps. That is OK, I'd say.

Perfect tool for grooming my long hair cat. Gets rid of her matted fur without cutting in to my cat's skin. She loves getting brushed with this tool and i love how easy it is to use on her!

Not very different at all than other cat brushes/fur removers. And I had such high hopes. It works, but not as fabulously as I had been led to believe.

Stand back and let that undercoat fly! Incredibly messy, but wow does it ever work at thinning out our girls' undercoats. Looks like a nasty piece of draconian hardware but they love it.

Dog hates it. I have an mini american eskimo (10lbs), and I needed a smaller brush than what they sell for dogs. This brush looks simliar to the dog ones so I thought that I'd try it. But it really pulls at his fur. He's a wuss and hates it.
