I got these after checking out many other chains for my new car. Yes they are few more dollars than the old fashioned products. I used to have the cables and have had experience with the regular chains. These are AWESOME! Story and advice to follow: Advice- Definitely practice the application of these before you get to the mountains. They are easy to put on but take a little different approach in removing them. The cable that cinches the chains to the tire needs to be pulled some to get off the tire. Just practice on the nice dry driveway in the sun before you get to the snow.Story- I drove to Big Bear after one of the rare storms, so the roads where classified as R2 when I hit the Cal Trans check point. Everyone had chains or cables. I drove into my space pulled out these and placed them next to each wheel. These don't tangle and stay in a circular shape. One of the Cal Trans workers walked over and asked if these where a special Acura product. I said nope and showed him the box. He said that he had never seen these things and he has been working the mountains for decades. Some other people were looking at me as well. These chains are very different looking. Anyway I put these on all four of my tires (more than what is needed for an AllWheel drive, but safer). I was done before any of the other people could get on two chains or cables. As I got back into my car I was very aware of the looks I was getting. As I drove off, I could see some people pointing at my car. I actually LoL'd.These are so fast to put on and had no issues staying on. These are by far the best chains out there and are a no Brainer buy. But you can always stay out on the snowy turnout longer and detangle your regular chains while struggling to stretch them over two tires. I will be dropping on my first snowboard run before you even get to the hill. ðŸ˜

Purchased for use on Prius, installation and removal is as advertised. Chains work well on paved roads with compacted snow or iceHowever, while the chains are tight on the surface of the tire, the slide mechanism is loose and it bangs against the wheels and makes a significant amount of noise and is causing wheel paint to flake . After installation, I zip tie some foam on the back of the mechanism to keep the noise down. This adds some time / inconvenience to the install that I paid 5x cost of regular chains for convenience.Manufacturer should have an attachment that goes on the back to absorb noise / Make fit of mechanism snug on wheel/tire combos where this occurs.

Should have gone with the Konig SUV 255's for my wheels. The CU-9 100's were listed as fitting my 225/50 R17 wheel/tire setup.Technically, this is true. In a warm, dry garage I managed to get them on in about 15 minutes each. They were at the very outside edge of fitting, being almost too small. I had to tug hard, get down on the ground, push at the chains with a long screwdriver to get them over enough, and even then had to drive the car back and forward about a meter before pushing down on the tensioning pedal with my foot before it would finally lock in place. I returned them because the difficulty of attachment was too onerous. I could not imagine making them work in the snow.Caveat Emptor.

Queste catene sono eccezionali, valgono tutto il prezzo cui le ho pagate. Vado in montagna in inverno almeno due volte a settimana monto gomme termiche e raramente mi capita di montare le catene, ma tutte quelle poche volte che mi capita, tra mani congelate e maniche di giacche sporche è sempre un disastro. Con queste catene è tutta un'altra cosa, si montano in un'attimo non si intrecciano ed è impossibile sporcarsi visto che non c'è bisogno di attaccare ganci, basta calzarle e stringerle tirando la leva con i piedi. Ancora più semplice smontarle. Ottima la sua custodia, l'interno è plastificato in modo da poterlo appoggiare sulla neve senza che si bagni, molto capiente in modo da non dover ripiegare le catene facendogli fare quei fastidiosi due giri per farle entrare. Mi raccomando ricordatevi sempre di sciacquare le catene con acqua corrente dopo l'uso, le mie vecchie catene per la fatica di farlo erano un groviglio di ruggine. Consigliate!!

Arrivato nei tempi, acquistato per le numerose recensioni positive e prove trovate in internet. Non le ho ancora provate, diciamo che fin'ora non ne ho mai avuto bisogno, anche perchè ho sempre utilizzato pneumatici invernali/4 stagioni e non ho mai vissuto e andato spesso in zone da nevicate frequenti. Per ora posso dire che le catene sembrano a posto, non aggrovigliate, infatti le ho tolte dalla borsa e si aprono perfettamente, ho provato la slitta di tiraggio e sembra funzionare, ho verificato il numero delle clip di protezione per i cerchi in lega montandole sulle catene e sono ok, anzi ne avanzano 4, l'unica pecca è la verniciatura rossa sulla parte aperta del cerchio rigido, tende a saltare. Ci sono delle maglie di ricambio, mi sembra un paio, nel caso se ne rompessero. Consiglio di non aspettare la stagione, poichè sembra che più ci si avvicina al momento di doverle usare, più si rischia di beccare gli aumenti, un pò come gli pneumatici. Per ora ne consiglio l'acquisto, visto anche il prezzo, nel caso aggiornerò la recensione in seguito.
