It is inexpensive compared to some others but it worked fine to me. I am using it with a digital camera to copy images.

This is my first copy stand, and at first blush it seemed that it would be a no-brainer to put it together. There is a horizontal piece to hold the camera, a base, and a vertical piece that bolts into the base and holds the horizontal piece. The bolts and nuts are provided. Here was my first problem: The provided nuts were too big for the provided bolts, and were completely useless. Adorama's customer service responded very quickly, but gave me two options: return the entire product, which seemed silly given the postage charges involved, or contact the manufacturer directly to have replacements shipped out. I went to Home Depot instead, and bought metric M5 - .8 nuts, which fit the bolts perfectly. Then I discovered the second trick. The horizontal bar does not fit over the top of the vertical piece, so needs to be slid onto the vertical piece from the bottom - BEFORE it is bolted to the base.... I suppose this is a good feature, so that the camera doesn't fall off if the horizontal bar is raised too far too fast. But it would have been useful to know this in advance. These minor annoyances aside, this is a solid, well constructed product that I am sure I will enjoy for many years.

Its a very basic stand and not quite the quality I would expect from something in this price range. I am satisfied so far with the column and camera attachment but base seems cheap, light and flimsy. Will update after a few months of use.

Holds my Canon T6 right where I need it. I'm using my own lamps, but would probably get the one with the lamp kit if ordering it again.

It is well built and sturdy. I like it. The only thing that would be nicer is a fine tuning slide for the camera.

Steel mast is not very stable. Oscillates noticeably, blurring images when zoomed in. Works as specified otherwise.

I originally purchased this stand to copy some old monochrome large format film negatives, using a light pad for illumination. This seemed to work well, but then I noticed considerable keystoning of the images and decided to check the stands geometry. Checks with a bubble level and measurements with a rule, show that the camera arm is not parallel to the baseboard, and in fact runs out by nearly 2mm over the length of the metal arm. Removing the screws and rotating the arm by 180 degrees and re-fitting, made little difference. The column is also out slightly but adjusting that by packing out the mounting bracket is not going to help much here. The problem seems to lie in the plastic bracket that slides up and down the column. It doesn’t hold the camera arm parallel to the baseboard thus rendering the whole thing useless. I bought the stand in preference to cheaper Chinese made ones, because of its ‘Made in Germany’ quality. Very disappointing.
