Trilobites, meaning "3 lobed," first appeared in our oceans about 570 million years ago before going extinct about 240 million years ago. These fossils are hand-selected with an average size of 2.5 inches; however, please allow for small variations in size, shape, & color.

Overall quality of the fossil was very good and the size is amazing. I was use to the much smaller fossils I’ve seen in our rocks and this was a very impressive.

I anticipated a more pristine or detailed fossil like the one depicted. My grandson will still enjoy it. Had I found it in the hillside then I would’ve been excited. Just be aware to manage your expectations. It came fast, in a black velvet bag in a heavy plastic ziplock to protect the fossil.
