The starter looked like it was the right one but the mounting holes were off by a lot and I had to use my original housing

Would recommend you have some knowledge how to replace the starter, but the replacement looked just like the original. The starter isn't difficult to mount, but the starter compartment is small and wires have to be moved in order to remove/replace the old starter.
